The Epic Games Store is giving away two free games starting February 26th: My Night Job and Boxes: Lost Fragments. These games are normally a combined value of $25, and this is the first time they’ve been offered for free on the Epic Games Store.
In January 2026, Epic Games ran two promotions offering two games at a time: first, Wildgate and Total War: Three Kingdoms on January 1st, and then both Styx games on January 15th. This month, they’ve already done three similar promotions, and this new announcement will make it four.
Boxes: Lost Fragments and My Night Job are Epic’s Next Freebies
Epic Games Store will be giving away two free games on February 26th: My Night Job and Boxes: Lost Fragments. You’ll have until March 5th at 8 a.m. Pacific Time (11 a.m. Eastern Time / 5 p.m. Central European Time) to claim them. My Night Job is an indie action game from 2016 where you defend a haunted mansion from monsters and rescue people. It’s designed to feel like an ’80s horror movie with fast-paced gameplay and increasing difficulty. You’ll have a lot of options for fighting the undead, including over 60 weapons, or you can just use your fists!

Aside from next week’s bigger giveaway, the Epic Games Store will also be offering the visual novel Return to Ash for free. Developed by indie studio Serenity Forge, it first came out on Steam in July 2025 and has received very positive feedback from players. The game tells the story of Ashleigh, a young woman who finds herself in the afterlife. She initially seems relieved, suggesting she had been seriously ill, but the details of her past are a mystery that players will uncover as they play.
Return to Ash is a brief game, typically taking players under four hours to finish, according to data from 2025. You’ll spend most of your time reading conversations and making choices as Ashleigh. The game features relationship building with other characters, and your decisions will shape the story, making it replayable despite its black-and-white art style.
From February 19th to 26th, you can get Return to Ash for free. It’s being offered alongside the Starter Edition of STALCRAFT: X, a free-to-play online shooter (MMOFPS) with optional in-game purchases. Developed by Russian studio EXBO, STALCRAFT: X launched on Steam in December 2022 and currently has over 15,000 reviews that are generally mixed. The game is inspired by the STALKER series and takes place in a fictionalized Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. It features a large, persistent online world where you can develop your character like in a role-playing game. Gameplay involves both player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) combat, where players team up, prepare in safe areas, then explore, complete missions, fight enemies, gather resources, and compete against other players.
The Starter Edition of STALCRAFT: X, usually costing $24.99, is currently available for free on Steam as part of the Epic Games Store promotion. These are separate deals because the game doesn’t allow players to transfer progress between platforms. Each platform—including Steam and the Epic Games Store—has its own separate servers, which divides the PC player community.
