Epic Games Store Officially Reveals Its April 9 Free Game

Epic Games Store is giving away Prop Sumo as a free game on April 9th. This fun, physics-based fighting game is the third free title available to claim from the Epic Games Store in April 2026, excluding other free games offered by developers on the platform.

Epic Games recently gave away two free games: the fast-paced shooter Hyper Echelon and the relaxing town-building game Havendock, starting on March 26th. As soon as that offer ended on April 2nd, they announced another free game for the following week.

What Exactly Is Prop Sumo?

Prop Sumo is a chaotic party game where everyday objects battle it out in arenas using physics-based combat. Players compete to be the highest-scoring object by bumping opponents off the stage with light, strong, and charged attacks, while also dodging incoming hits. The arenas are filled with around two dozen interactive items like explosives and magnetic traps, which can quickly change the course of a match.

Before the big giveaway on April 9th begins, Epic Games Store users can already get a free copy of Clone Drone in the Danger Zone. Developed by Doborog Games, this indie game has been in development since 2017 and officially launched in 2021. It’s a quick, action-packed arena fighter where players battle as robots. What makes it different is its detailed system for how robots are damaged – you can even win a match while standing on just one leg! The game’s unique look comes from its detailed, blocky graphics, which make every injury look distinct.

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone features a brief single-player campaign, but it truly shines in multiplayer. Players can team up in co-op, compete in player-versus-player battles, or fight for survival in a fast-paced battle royale. As of April 2026, the game boasts over 17,200 “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, making it one of the most well-received free games offered by Epic in recent years.

Multiple Third-Party Giveaways Are Currently Live on the Epic Games Store

PC gamers can now get two free games on the Epic Games Store! Vornyca, a post-apocalyptic platformer that usually costs $4.99, and Together After Dark, a co-op horror game for up to four players, are both available at no cost. These giveaways were initiated by the game developers, Horizon Studios and the creators of Together After Dark, respectively. Epic Games recently added the ability for developers to offer free games in February 2026, and these are among the first to take advantage of the new feature. You can claim both games for free until April 5th.
