For September 4th, the free games offered by the Epic Games Store are “The Battle of Polytopia” and “Monument Valley.” These games are the third and fourth titles in their September 2025 lineup, with the first two having been previously released and available for claim until early next month.
Over the past week, from August 21 to August 28, I was thrilled to receive two fantastic games for free on Epic Games Store – Strange Horticulture and Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge. However, those offers have now come to an end, and in their place, I’m excited about the new freebies that are up for grabs: Make Way and Machinarium!
Starting from August 28, the free games on the Epic Games Store are now available. The store has also announced what’s next in its giveaway, focusing on the games “The Battle of Polytopia” and “Monument Valley“. You can claim these titles starting September 4, at 8am PT / 11am ET / 5pm CET. PC users will have a week, until September 11, to add them to their Epic Games Store accounts.

What Is The Battle of Polytopia?
The game titled “The Battle of Polytopia,” created by the Swedish studio Midjiwan, is a popular strategy game that initially debuted on mobile devices in 2016 and later expanded to PC and Nintendo Switch in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Originally named “Super Tribes,” it changed its name due to a trademark dispute around mid-2016. As with most 4X games, players are tasked with exploring, expanding their territories, exploiting resources, and defeating competitors, not necessarily in that order. However, unlike traditional 4X games, it focuses on a simplified gameplay structure with two main modes: a time-limited score chase called Perfection and an ongoing conquest campaign named Domination. An additional creative sandbox mode was introduced during the Moonrise update in 2020, which coincided with its release on PC.
What Is Monument Valley?
First introduced in 2014, Monument Valley is an acclaimed puzzle game developed by Ustwo Games. In this captivating adventure, players are challenged to explore tranquil landscapes brimming with Escher-esque visual puzzles, gradually unfolding a tale that is both minimalist and enigmatic in nature.
When anticipating new releases like “The Battle of Polytopia” and “Monument Valley”, users of the Epic Games Store can currently obtain “Machinarium” and “Make Way” for free. The first, a heartwarming point-and-click adventure about a tiny robot on an epic journey, contrasts with the second game, which is a fast-paced multiplayer title featuring up to six players creating wacky tracks and competing in races. Until now, neither “Make Way” nor “Machinarium” were available for free on the Epic Games Store as part of any promotion. The upcoming week will see “The Battle of Polytopia” and “Monument Valley” making their debuts as free offerings on the EGS. The contents of the September 18 weekly giveaway on the Epic Games Store are expected to be announced on September 11.
