Epic Games Store Reveals Free Game and One More Offer for October 2

This week, the Epic Games Store is giving away two free games: *Nightingale* and a content pack for *Firestone Online Idle RPG*. Normally, these games would cost a total of $129.98, so it’s a great deal for players!

From September 18th to 25th, Epic Games offered *Project Winter* and *Samorost 2* as free games. That promotion just ended, and now they’re giving away *Eastern Exorcist* and *Jorel’s Brother and The Most Important Game of the Galaxy* instead.

As the current free game promotion ends, Epic Games Store has announced next week’s free games: *Nightingale* and a new item bundle for *Firestone*. These will be available to claim starting October 2nd at 8am Pacific Time, 11am Eastern Time, or 5pm Central European Time. You’ll have seven days to add them to your Epic Games Store account.

What Is Nightingale?

Nightingale is an open-world survival game set in a Victorian-era fantasy world, created by Canadian studio Inflexion Games. You play from a first-person perspective and will explore, fight, gather resources, and craft items to survive. You can play alone or team up with friends online to discover different, interconnected worlds called Fae Realms.

Nightingale, a game first released in February 2024, is still in early access – a period originally estimated to last between 9 and 12 months. While it’s now been over 19 months, the developers at Inflexion Games always said the timeline was approximate and would depend on player feedback and their development progress. Since launch, the game has received frequent updates, with ten patches released in 2024 and three more so far in 2025. Despite a lukewarm critical reception – it currently has a 59 average score and a “Weak” rating on OpenCritic – player reviews on Steam are largely positive, with almost 10,000 users marking it as “Mostly Positive”.
