Epic Games Store Reveals Its Final Free Games for July 2025

For July 31, “Pilgrims” and “Keylocker” are the free titles offered by the Epic Games Store. This will be the initial occasion that either game is distributed to users of the Epic Games Store.

From July 17th through July 24th, Epic has been providing the Platinum Edition of Civilization 6, featuring two game expansions and around six additional DLC packs as a promotional offer. This offer has now concluded, and in its place, another free item – Legion TD 2 – has been introduced.

This week, the Epic Games Store has started giving away Legion TD 2, and as usual, it has announced its free games for next week: Pilgrims and Keylocker. Interestingly, Keylocker is considered a day-one release, but exclusively on the Epic Games Store; it was initially released on Steam back in September 2024. Keylocker is a pixel art turn-based JRPG that blends rhythm action elements with a cyberpunk setting and boasts “Very Positive” reviews on Valve’s platform.

Originating from independent Czech studio Amanita Design, the game titled Pilgrims was initially launched on PC and Apple Arcade in October 2019. The game is structured as a point-and-click adventure where players take charge of an adventurer who aims to capture a bird to secure a boat ride. As straightforward as it may seem, the story quickly evolves into a non-linear journey filled with poignant moments, genuine emotion, and numerous opportunities for replay.

Fans found the gameplay of Pilgrims engaging and enjoyable, as indicated by its “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, based on more than 4,500 user opinions. In addition to its compelling narrative and non-linear story development, players appreciated the game’s visuals, which are characterized by hand-drawn art, exaggerated cartoonish characters, and a subdued, earthy color scheme. Pilgrims is typically priced at $6.99 on the Epic Games Store, while Keylocker will cost $19.99 during periods outside of its promotional giveaway.

Before receiving Pilgrims and Keylocker, Epic Games Store users have the opportunity to grab two other free games. One of these is Legion TD 2, a popular strategy game that can be played solo or multiplayer (up to 8 players). It gained recognition for its endlessly replayable multiplayer mode. The second free game being offered is Doodle Mafia: Epic Alchemy, a mobile puzzler with a cop-vs-criminal theme. These games become available starting today and will remain so until July 31st. This is the first time they are being given away for free by the Epic Games Store. The upcoming mobile freebie that will be released alongside Pilgrims and Keylocker has not been officially announced yet, but there’s a possibility it might leak in advance, as was the case with Doodle Mafia recently.
