So, Epic Games is giving away two pretty cool horror games for free on October 30th: Bendy and the Ink Machine and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit. It looks like they’re really leaning into the spooky vibes with these giveaways, and it’s part of a little run of horror games they’re doing leading up to Halloween next year. Definitely a nice treat for us gamers!
From October 16th to 23rd, the Epic Games Store offered both Samorost 3 and Amnesia: The Bunker as free games. Now, they’ve switched to offering just one free game: Fear the Spotlight.
As soon as the Epic Games Store revealed its free game for October 23rd, it announced the next giveaway, scheduled right before Halloween 2025. This promotion will focus on horror games, offering both Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit and Bendy and the Ink Machine. You’ll be able to claim them starting October 30th at 8am Pacific Time / 11am Eastern Time / 4pm Central European Time. Like usual with Epic Games Store promotions, these games will be available to download for one week.
Epic Games Store Free Games Right Now (Oct 23–Nov 6)
- Fear the Spotlight (October 23 – October 30)
- Bendy and the Ink Machine (October 30 – November 6)
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit (October 30 – November 6)
What Is Bendy and the Ink Machine?
Released in five parts from February 2017 to October 2018, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a survival horror game. While opinions on the later chapters differed, the game was initially celebrated for its unique art style, inspired by classic cartoons, and its storytelling, which drew comparisons to the game BioShock. The complete edition, available on the Epic Games Store starting October 30th, currently has a ‘Fair’ rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 69 and a 58% recommendation rate from reviewers.
What Is Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit?
Released in 2024, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit is a well-received new game in the popular Five Nights at Freddy’s horror series. Developed by Mega Cat Studios, it changes the gameplay from the original games by offering a 2D side-scrolling experience focused on stealth, exploration, and escaping chases. Players must sneak around, solve puzzles, and find clues to survive each night, rather than managing cameras, doors, and power. The game is based on the graphic novel Five Nights at Freddy’s: Fazbear Frights #1: Into the Pit, written by Elley Cooper and Scott Cawthon. Critics generally like the game, giving it a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic with an 83% average score and a 78% recommendation rate.
Both Bendy and the Ink Machine and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit are being offered for free on the Epic Games Store for the first time. This giveaway probably signals the end of Epic’s recent run of free horror games, as Halloween will be over before the offer ends on November 6th.
