Summary
- The Adoring Fan in Oblivion Remastered can access Dreamworld, surprising players.
- The NPC seems immortal and can enter Dreamworld without a Dream Amulet.
- Other NPCs like Lucien Lachance and Audens Avidius have also appeared in the Dreamworld.
A gamer has found out that the beloved character, Adoring Fan, in the enhanced version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, can navigate to a place within the game, known as Dreamworld, which is typically off-limits for most non-player characters (NPCs). This surprising revelation has left many newcomers perplexed, but even seasoned players of Oblivion are taken aback by this hidden skill.
In the remastered version of “Oblivion,” players can reencounter the Adoring Fan character, originally introduced over two decades ago. This time around, they have the opportunity to recruit him as an ally once more. As was the case in the original “Oblivion,” players must triumph in all 21 battles within the Imperial City Arena to secure the Adoring Fan’s services. Unlike most companions, the lively Bosmer doesn’t contribute much in combat, but he does have a unique trait: he’s functionally immortal, always resurfacing by your side after a few days following what seems like his demise.
However, it turns out that the Adoring Fan has another hidden talent. As unveiled by a player on Reddit named Only_Upwards, this character can enter Dreamworld under specific conditions, demonstrating abilities beyond those of typical NPCs. In the course of playing Oblivion Remastered, players involved in the Mages Guild questline will be awarded a Dreamworld Amulet in Bravil. This amulet is used to save fellow mage Henantier, who’s trapped inside his own nightmare. A screenshot accompanying the post reveals that the Adoring Fan manages to breach the Dreamworld even without his own amulet, suggesting he can reunite with his deceased master in this realm.
Oblivion Remastered’s Adoring Fan Can Pierce the Veil of Dreams
Some gamers consider the Adoring Fan’s mysterious ability to be nothing more than a glitch in the system, while others view it as an otherworldly talent. It appears that he isn’t the only Non-Player Character (NPC) endowed with this peculiar gift. Players have also pointed out that Lucien Lachance, the Speaker of the Black Hand in Oblivion’s Dark Brotherhood, has made unexpected appearances during their explorations within Henantier’s dreams. Lachance is scripted to eerily appear at the foot of the player character’s bed after they wake following their first murder. Remarkably, many players have testified that Lachance, like the Adoring Fan, doesn’t seem to be constrained from entering Dreamworld to deliver his chilling opening speech.
One more character who appears to have this unusual talent is Audens Avidius, a corrupt Imperial Watch captain. This individual can be brought to account by players via the Imperial Corruption quest. Once Avidius has been humbled, he will pursue revenge against the player persistently. It appears that his hatred runs so deep it could even penetrate into the Dreamworld.
