As a hardcore gamer who’s been navigating the gritty streets of Tarkov since its early days, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and excitement as BattleState Games unveils their roadmap for Escape From Tarkov and Escape From Tarkov: Arena. The transition to Unity 2022 engine has been a long-awaited upgrade, and I can almost hear the collective sigh of relief from the community.
BattleState Games has unveiled a tentative plan outlining developments for “Escape From Tarkov” and “Escape From Tarkov: Arena” up to the year-end in 2024.
Among the major points, the switch to the Unity 2022 game engine stands out as a key development. Players are thrilled that long-anticipated community proposals are finally coming to fruition.
Arena has just received patch 0.2.1.0, with a free weekend running until September 23, while Escape From Tarkov sits on version 0.15.0.3 following the August wipe.
EFT: Arena Patch 0.2.2.0
In the upcoming update for the game, it’s proposed to add fresh gameplay options. This would include a team-based cooperative tower defense mode called “Overrun” that can be played by five players, as well as a competitive round-robin tournament called “Shootout” suitable for four to six teams.
In the upcoming version 0.2.2.0, you can expect not only bug fixes but also enhancements in functionality and user experience, a fresh map to explore, and a mystery high-impact explosive device.
EFT: Arena Patch 0.2.3.0
The only item in the 0.2.3.0 plan is synchronization between Escape From Tarkov and EFT: Arena, which is a big deal.
Ever since EFT’s update version 0.15.0.0, gamers have encountered significant difficulties in synchronizing their accounts, resulting in annoying glitches such as skipped character levels.
Escape From Tarkov Patch 0.15.4.0
After initially planning the shift to Unity 2022 in previous updates, BattleState Games has decided to finally go through with it. The original move was postponed due to the subscription fee dispute.
In simpler terms, Unity 2022 won’t represent a fundamental change from Unity 2021 but will introduce the ability to utilize AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution 3 (often referred to as FSR 3) and Nvidia Deep-Learning Super Sampling 3.
Escape From Tarkov Patch 0.15.5.0
With the latest update, patch 0.15.5.0, Tarkov’s notorious loading times are alleviated somewhat. Now, you can engage in stash and hideout activities to make the wait more bearable during PvP gameplay.
In other words, Battlefield Singapore (BSG) hasn’t disclosed detailed information about this particular aspect yet, but it seems like it will enable players to list their own items for sale on a marketplace known as the flea market, and also engage in trading interactions with various characters within the game.
As a fellow enthusiast, I’m excited about the upcoming gameplay update that lets us secure items in position. This way, the “Auto-Sort” function becomes less of a hassle and more of a smooth experience.
As a dedicated follower, I’m excited to share that in the technical realm of Tarkov, we can anticipate enhancements to performance, audio, and AI capabilities. There’s a possibility that the PMC karma system could undergo changes, though this is still up in the air.
Lastly, version 0.15.5.0 is set to introduce fall foliage and, based on the release schedule, potentially this year’s rendition of the renowned “Escape From Tarkov” Halloween celebrations.
EFT: Arena Patch 0.2.4.0
Focus on Priorities, People: Molotov Cocktail Throws to Tarkov are Imminent, as Hints from Buyanov Reveal; These will utilize Pevko Beer Bottles and are Set to Enter the Primary Game Soon.
As a gamer, I believe it’s crucial that our rankings and matchmaking systems get a bit of fine-tuning to ensure more balanced matches. Alongside this, let’s not forget about enhancing the overall gaming experience with some top-notch quality-of-life improvements.
EFT: Arena 0.2.5.0
The most curious item in the Arena roadmap for 2024 is the Battle Pass system.
It’s not certain if this update will incorporate microtransactions into the game, or if it will primarily use Lega Medals earned through completing weekly tasks from the trader Ref. instead.
This patch should also add another location to EFT: Arena, plus some QoL improvements.
Escape From Tarkov Patch 0.16.0.0
As the furthest patch down the line, BSG has been cagey on the specifics outside the winter change.
Introduced just last year, this atmospheric season poses problems for snipers as they become strikingly conspicuous amidst the snow and bare foliage.
In the roadmap, the term “high-end content” might be referring to the “Terminal expansion,” a location that advanced players could potentially reach in Tarkov as a late-game goal for attempting an escape.
Various technical improvements and new weapons are in the cards, too.
In June, game director Nikita Buyanov held a survey, and the participants preferred the French FAMAS bullpup assault rifle with a 5.56x45mm caliber slightly more than the German G3 7.62x51mm battle rifle.
Convention News
As a dedicated fan, I’m eagerly anticipating fresh insights about upcoming updates! BattleState Games is set to grace both TwitchCon San Diego and the Tokyo Games Show, promising to shed light on those tantalizingly vague patch notes on our community roadmap.
The scheduled visits aim to delve into the topic of EFT: Arena, and ideally provide insights about the proposed Battle Pass system expected to roll out in the remaining months of this year.
