Escape from Tarkov Cheaters: 3,600 Bans Issued in 21 Days

BattleState Games has shared on social media platforms that an additional 3,600 accounts have been permanently banned from Escape from Tarkov over a 21-day period ending August 7th. While this number may seem impressive to some, it’s simply part of the ongoing efforts to combat cheating in a game that has unfortunately become notorious for malicious players.

Lately, the leader of Battlestate Games’ studio expressed that combating cheaters is a tough, ongoing battle.

In simpler terms, Escape from Tarkov is notorious for having a high number of cheaters, an issue that has persisted for several years. However, the introduction of its Player versus Environment (PvE) platform was well-received because it offers players an authentic Tarkov experience without the nuisance of encountering cheaters.

The Battlestate Games team recently announced on social media that they banned over 3,600 individuals for cheating during the 21-day period from July 17 to August 7.

A quick look at the document uncovers some major issues related to the rampant cheating issue in the most popular online shooter game. For example, numerous account groups share similar names, suggesting that cheaters operate multiple accounts and can easily switch to alternate profiles when one is caught or banned.

It’s anticipated that Escape from Tarkov will soon leave early access and officially launch, but there are concerns among players that the game might not yet be ready for a full release due to its ongoing issue with cheaters.

One significant challenge to the game’s long-term success is maintaining its player base, and this has led some to speculate that peak player numbers are decreasing over time. Lately, Battlestate Games revealed an uncommon look at the game’s active users, causing fans to ponder about how many of these players might be using cheats.
