The creator of the popular game Escape from Tarkov has just given fans a first look at his next project, a sci-fi shooter called COR3. Escape from Tarkov quickly gained a following after its initial closed beta in 2017, becoming well-known on streaming platforms for its addictive gameplay. The game was in development for over ten years, with regular updates, before its official release in late 2025. The founder of Battlestate Games has consistently been the public face of Tarkov throughout its development.
Nikita Buyanov has become a well-known figure in the gaming world thanks to the popularity of Escape from Tarkov. He’s currently the Chief Operating Officer for Battlestate Games, the studio behind the game, which he founded in 2012 to start developing Escape from Tarkov. Buyanov is also actively involved in the game’s creation as its director, and even composes much of its music. Even though Escape from Tarkov isn’t fully releasing until late 2025, Buyanov is already giving fans a preview of his next project.
COR3 Is a New Sci-Fi Shooter from Escape From Tarkov Dev
As a huge fan of Escape from Tarkov, I was blown away when Nikita Buyanov finally showed us a first glimpse of his next project, COR3! The trailer was seriously creepy – it starts with a soldier wandering through what looks like a ruined city, and then the camera pans out to reveal this huge, high-tech civilization on Mars. But it’s not a happy scene – the orbit around the planet is full of wrecked spaceships and… well, floating astronauts. It seems like there’s one space station still functioning, probably used to figure out what happened. They even launched an interactive website with more details about the game’s story and concept, which is awesome!
What Do We Know About COR3?
So, I’ve been checking out the official site for COR3, and it’s set in 2251 – a little over two centuries from now. Apparently, this group called The Core saved us from total destruction and now they’re trying to rebuild civilization and get all the world governments working together. The site is really cool, with a bunch of interactive stuff where you can sign up with your email and unlock pieces of the game’s backstory – it’s from the Escape from Tarkov team, so I’m hyped! The trailer and site don’t say when it’s actually coming out, though, which is a bummer.
COR3 appears to be a science fiction adventure where humanity is facing extinction. The game’s trailer doesn’t reveal much about how it will actually play, only showing a post-apocalyptic world. A quick shot at the beginning hints that COR3 will be a first-person shooter (FPS) developed by Battlestate Games. The trailer does offer a few clues about the game’s world, notably that the suits worn by floating figures feature a red star symbol often associated with Russia.
Battlestate Games Has Lots on the Horizon
The recent unveiling of COR3 follows several exciting announcements for Escape from Tarkov players. Battlestate Games announced the game’s first official crossover event, partnering with the comedic game Escape from Duckov. They’ve also hinted at ambitious plans for 2026, including new maps and significant updates to existing locations – like the ability to shoot locks off doors. Battlestate Games appears dedicated to expanding both Escape from Tarkov and the newly introduced COR3 with substantial improvements and content.
