Escape from Tarkov Devs Unveil More Images of the Customs Rework

As a seasoned Escape from Tarkov survivor with countless hours logged on Customs, I can hardly contain my excitement as Battlestate Games prepares to overhaul this cherished battleground. The tantalizing glimpses of the ‘New Gas’ interior and other updated interiors have me itching for the next Tarkov wipe.

Battlestate Games is diligently working on the upcoming significant update for Escape from Tarkov. On various social media platforms, they’ve shared pictures, showcasing previews of the ‘Customs makeover’, a revamp being done to what’s often called the most favored map in the game.

The exact date for the update on Customs is yet to be announced, however, it’s likely that it will occur during the upcoming Tarkov reset, which is scheduled for this month.

Overhauled

In Escape from Tarkov, Customs is a commonly frequented map due to its role as one of the initial environments new players often explore. It’s packed with early-game tasks and offers exciting Player versus Player (PvP) zones, along with a few boss battles that yield high Experience Points (XP) and valuable loot.

Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov shared glimpses of the changes coming to Customs in a set of images posted on social media.

Initially, there was a close-up of a highly intricate and engaging ‘New Gas’ interior. Later in the day, Buyanov unveiled additional interiors, displaying exceptional care in design details.

In just one night, it gained ten times the detail, with the update introducing greater verticality and depth to the renowned map.

Over the past few years, the team at BSG has been dedicated to enhancing and revising nearly every map within the game. This work is being done with the upcoming launch of Tarkov as a fully-fledged game, version 1.0.
