Escape from Tarkov is Being Beaten to the Steam Launch Punch by Its Number-One Rival

Escape from Tarkov, scheduled for release on Steam later this year, is set to be preceded by its primary rival, Arena Breakout: Infinite. In a recent announcement, it was made clear that Arena Breakout: Infinite (ABI) will arrive on Steam as early as September 15, offering a free-to-play survival experience to countless eager fans.

For fans of extraction shooter games, they now have a few months to test out Arena Breakout: Infinite before Tarkov’s Steam launch, which is expected later in the year following its 1.0 release on November 15th.

Arena Breakout: Infinite Heads to Steam

Arena Breakout: Infinite has been playable for quite a while now, yet players have had to rely on a unique launcher provided by its developer, MoreFun. However, starting from September 15, when ABI hits Steam, one of the most beloved and free extraction shooters is poised to introduce itself to an entirely fresh audience.

Currently as I speak, Arena Breakout: Infinite ranks eighth on the Steam Wishlist chart. It trails slightly behind ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6, but it outpaces Dying Light: The Beast and Ark 2.

The game, Escape from Tarkov, currently doesn’t have a spot on Steam as its page hasn’t been launched yet. However, when it does become available, it will boast more than two million wishlist spots.

Arena Breakout: Infinite has sustained an enthusiastic core fanbase for approximately a year now, with MoreFun consistently releasing updates – introducing new maps, modes, weapons, and even collaborations, some unexpected like the recent Cyberpunk 2077 crossover in July.

At Gamescom 2024, I had a chat with MoreFun Studios where we delved into several key aspects of their upcoming game. I inquired about their decision to exclude an offline play mode, and they shared valuable insights. Additionally, they showcased their innovative AI NPCs that are capable of responding to real-time voice commands.

On Steam’s post, MoreFun enthusiastically advertised the upcoming game, showcasing all its impressive features that will be available at launch in approximately two weeks.

Over the past year, Arena Breakout: Infinite has proven its unique identity, despite initial accusations of plagiarism from Battlestate Games. Its visually appealing exterior, combined with substantial content, has helped it stand out. Although it features questionable microtransactions, the fact that it is free to play is a significant plus point.

Would you be planning to purchase Arena Breakout: Infinite on Steam once it releases on September 15? If so, I’d appreciate if you could share that on the TopMob forum.
