Escape from Tarkov’s First Post-Launch DLC Will Focus on ‘Scav Life’

After over eight years in development, Escape from Tarkov is almost ready to officially launch as version 1.0. Battlestate Games is working hard to ensure this major update to the popular extraction shooter is polished and ready for players.

Escape from Tarkov will be available on Steam when it officially launches, and a version for consoles is also planned. After launch, the first downloadable content (DLC) will be called ‘Scav Life’ and will center around the popular ‘Scav’ characters found throughout the game.

Scav Life DLC Could Potentially Explore The Lonely Faction

Following the Tokyo Game Show, Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov shared details about the upcoming full launch of Escape from Tarkov in a video. He highlighted that the team is building something truly unique and ambitious, describing it as a large and intricate project.

Nikita discussed what comes after the release of Escape from Tarkov, mentioning that they’ve already begun developing the first downloadable content (DLC).

Once the game is out, we’re not stopping there! We’re already planning to make the world even bigger. First up is the ‘Scav Life’ DLC, and right after that, we’ve got a couple of massive in-game events lined up for everyone to jump into.

Scavs in Escape from Tarkov are solitary survivors found throughout almost all of the game’s maps. They wander the ruined city and countryside, scavenging for supplies. Usually, they’re equipped with basic, worn-out gear and are opportunistic rather than skilled combatants.

Instead of playing as their main character, players can take on the role of a random ‘Scav’ in ‘scav runs’. The developers plan to add more content and details about this faction after the game launches, which is something to look forward to.
