Escape from Tarkov’s Scavs Have Been Upgraded Based on Community Feedback

Battlestate Games recently conducted a survey in Escape from Tarkov focusing on the ‘Scav’ character within the game. While playing Escape from Tarkov, players can choose to play as a PMC (Personal Military Company), which is their customizable character, or as a Scav (Scavenger), a character that appears randomly and comes with various limitations and disadvantages.

After analyzing the survey findings, Battlestate Games has already made significant adjustments to the Scav characters. They’ve emphasized that more modifications are on their way.

Scav Life

According to the latest Escape from Tarkov survey results, approximately 64% of gamers expressed a desire for more control over their Scav character’s movement, specifically choosing the map they wish to explore. Furthermore, an impressive 84% of players admitted that they primarily play as Scavs to complete loot runs and gather items for improving their in-game Hideout.

Approximately 30% of gamers believe that the experience of playing as a Scav should be entirely unpredictable, including the maps they are required to traverse. Additionally, around 2.6% of players have confessed that they never play as the Scav character, while approximately 6.6% use the Scav role specifically to engage in PvP encounters with PMC characters for loot.

Since the survey, Battlestate Games has implemented several significant adjustments aimed at enhancing gameplay with Scav characters:

1. Enhanced AI behavior for more realistic and challenging encounters.
2. Improved loot distribution to make finding valuable items more rewarding.
3. Balance changes to better reflect the role of Scavs within the game environment.
4. Bug fixes to address various issues affecting gameplay with Scav characters.

These updates aim to create a more enjoyable and engaging experience for players interacting with Scav characters in the game.

  • Player Scavs will now spawn no earlier than 17 minutes after the start of the raid on all maps except for Reserve, Factory, and Ground Zero.
  • The Scav equipment system has been improved, and a higher fence rep will now reward a player with better Scav gear.

It was subsequently assured that further enhancements will be rolled out for the aspect that is enjoyed by about 97% of Tarkov gamers.

In terms of extraction shooter games, Escape from Tarkov continues to lead the pack. This game, which is approaching its tenth year, exhibits no signs of losing momentum. Soon, players can anticipate another ‘wipe’ transition, expected within a couple of months.
