The newest update to Escape from Tarkov has reintroduced snow to the game after nearly a year. When you launch Escape from Tarkov now, you’ll be asked to download an update – this one adds winter weather, including snow, to the city of Norvinsk.
Several important bugs affecting Escape from Tarkov players have been fixed. You can find a complete list of the fixes below.
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
With the holidays near, it’s started snowing in Escape from Tarkov. The snow covers everything in white, rendering most clothing ineffective, removing leaves from the maps, and making it harder to hear for players with high-volume headsets.
So, Battlestate Games just dropped a new patch today, and honestly, the big thing everyone’s talking about is the snow! But it’s not just pretty visuals – they also squashed a ton of bugs and made a bunch of other changes to the game.
- Fixed the loading wheel icon showing throughout the starting mission;
- Fixed the camera lock and character movement lock that occurred when using consumable items before the second cutscene on Terminal
- Fixed the inability to complete a specific task in the Batya story chapter in PvE mode
- Fixed the lock for weapon operations and looting that occurred after looting a character that got killed while using a stationary weapon
- Fixed the abrupt interruption of consumable item animations in certain cases
- Fixed the incorrect spawn points for Zryachiy and his guards on Lighthouse
- Fixed the audio artifacts when quickly skipping trader dialogue lines
- Fixed the item icon display issues when trading while using active filters
- Smoothed out the BTR movement
- Fixed the incorrect message layout in the Messages tab
- Fixed several localization errors
- Fixed several visual geometry bugs across all locations
- Fixed several interface issues
Since Escape from Tarkov’s major 1.0 update launched on November 15th, Battlestate Games has been constantly working to fix problems. The update brought a lot of changes, and while they’re gradually resolving the issues, it feels like a never-ending task – every time they fix one bug, two more appear.
