Euro Truck Simulator 2 Hit a New Player Record 13 Years After Release

It’s unusual for a game to gain popularity years after it’s released, and it’s even more rare for a driving simulator. That’s exactly what happened with Euro Truck Simulator 2, which recently reached a new record number of players on Steam – thirteen years after it first came out in October 2012.

I was blown away to see Euro Truck Simulator 2 hit over 72,000 players on Steam! It seems like everyone’s rushing to check out the new DLCs that added the Nordic countries – they’re clearly a huge hit!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 Reaches New Heights

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is a consistently popular driving simulation game. Some dedicated players even create realistic truck cab setups in their homes to fully enhance the immersive driving experience.

So, SCS Software just dropped two new DLCs for Euro Truck Simulator 2, and I’ve been diving in! The first, Nordic Horizons, is amazing – it lets you drive through Scandinavia, and honestly, the scenery is breathtaking. Think winding roads up mountains, dirt tracks through forests, and some seriously beautiful views around lakes and fjords. It’s a really immersive experience.

Here’s the trailer for the expansion:

Euro Truck Simulator 2 has improved dramatically over time, thanks to SCS Software consistently adding new places to drive and lots of expansion packs to enhance the gameplay experience.

On Steam, players can purchase the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Ultimate Edition bundle, which includes the main game and a large collection of 34 expansions and downloadable content packs. These additions feature locations like Greece, France, Italy, the Balkans, and Scandinavia.

Since its release in 2012, Euro Truck Simulator 2 has consistently been popular, earning ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews and becoming one of the highest-rated games on Steam.
