As a seasoned adventurer who’s braved the treacherous terrains of Hyrule and faced the formidable foes within, I can confidently say that these automatons are nothing short of marvelous creations! From the fearsome High-Teku Baba to the powerful Roboblin, each one brings a unique advantage to my quest.

Dampé is quite an unusual character within the world of the Zelda series. Originating from “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time“, he was initially depicted as a gravedigger in Kakariko Village. In the 2019 remake of “ The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening“, he took on the role of the dungeon master. Although the creative options weren’t as extensive as “Super Mario Maker“, players were still given the ability to construct dungeons in that remake.

In the sequel known as The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Dampé makes his reappearance as a budding engineer who constructs automatons. These mechanical warriors will join forces with Zelda around midway through the game, so here’s a rundown of all six, organized by rank and strategies for obtaining them.

6 Gizmol

Create Electric Music As A Barrier

  • Materials Needed: Zol Echo and Prismatic Music Box

Obtaining Gizmol isn’t too difficult, but it’s not exceptional in terms of automatons. Every player can easily grab a Zol Echo and there are plenty of them scattered throughout the game. Additionally, a Prismatic Music Box is also available, although it might be more challenging to acquire as players must compete in two horse races at Hyrule Ranch in “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom”.

Apart from the horse’s controls being peculiar, the races shouldn’t be excessively difficult for players. However, Gizmol won’t engage enemies physically; rather, it will produce a melody, and magical musical notes will harm nearby entities. The challenge lies in the fact that these musical notes are not consistent, making it tricky to target anything precisely.

5 Goldfinch

Soar Into Riches

  • Materials Needed: Crow Echo and Golden Fan

Goldfinch offers a slightly superior upgrade over Gizmol for the Crow beast, so players should aim to get both the Crow Echo and Golden Fan items. These can be found in the Gerudo Desert Oasis by playing the Tough Mango mini-game and keeping an eye out for Crows scattered throughout Hyrule.

In the game “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom”, one of the game’s standout features is that the Crow has the ability to cause Rupees to burst out of enemies when attacked. To accumulate wealth quickly, it’s advisable to secure a Crow Echo or its robotic counterpart, the Goldfinch, as soon as possible. Much like the Crow, the Goldfinch generates Rupees upon attack and allows players to glide further than many other flying creatures within the game, offering a significant advantage during gameplay.

4 Techtite

Rocket Up Any Mountain

  • Materials Needed: Tektite Echo and Mothula Echo

Tektites, pesky creatures in the game, are hard to handle due to their swift speed and unpredictable jumps that make them hard to reach. Having one on your team is crucial for balance. They’re usually found near watery spots in Hyrule. Mothulas, on the other hand, are essential for building the automaton, and they’re commonly found around the Gerudo Desert region.

The Techtite stands out due to its advantages over the Tektite, minus any drawbacks. It’s robust, resilient, and boasts an additional travel capability. This unique feature allows it to shoot upwards like a rocket, facilitating ascents on steep cliffs in Hyrule, particularly useful during your journey through the Goron-inhabited Eldin Volcano or the isolated and cold Hebra Mountain, which are crucial for later storyline missions in the game.

3 High-Teku Baba

Chomp Enemies Into Oblivion

  • Materials Needed: Deku Baba Echo and Steel Trap

High-Teku Baba is an awesome name for a robot and it’s modeled after the Deku Baba plant monster of level 2. Players need to finish the Acorn NPC’s challenge near the Hyrule Field. He appears frequently throughout the game, asking players to locate his acorns in exchange for rewards. An initial encounter could earn players a Heart Piece. The trial at Hyrule Field awards players with the Steel Trap item, making Deku Baba’s teeth even more terrifyingly formidable.

In the game “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” you might want to explore the B2 area of Hyrule Castle to find the Frog Ring accessory. The reason? High-Teku Baba, a powerful automaton, is waiting. This mechanical creature remains stationary and gobbles up most enemies in one gulp, much like Pac-Man eating dots but with a plant-based twist. Alternatively, you can carry it around and watch it munch on things blocking your path!

2 Roboblin

The Samurai Moblin Code

  • Materials Needed: Sword Moblin Echo and Heirloom Katana

In the game, there are various types and degrees of Moblins, one of them being the Sword-wielding Moblin, easily identified by its sword and shield. This particular monster can be quite helpful. To acquire one, you need to complete six challenges in the Slumber Dojo, a facility found in both Kakariko Village and scattered throughout other areas. Once you’ve accomplished this task, the Sword Moblin becomes available, and it is also required for constructing the Roboblin automaton, along with the Heirloom Katana.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but marvel at the mighty Roboblin, an anime-inspired samurai reinterpretation of the Moblin. Instead of wielding a shield, he boldly grasps a katana with both hands, using it to unleash a powerful wave attack on foes. The impact of this move is immense, causing Roboblin to recoil due to the force. However, the temporary vulnerability that follows is a small price to pay for such a game-changing strike, making Roboblin an exceptional ally in our battles.

1 Tocktorok

Arm Zelda With An Impressive Canon

  • Materials Needed: Octorok Echo and Firework Echo

Ticktocker, an exceptional robot, is among the simplest to activate. Octoroks can be found near most water bodies throughout Hyrule. To obtain the Firework Echo, players should venture to Goron City and finish the side quest “The Fireworks Artist.

Once activated, Tocktorok unleashes a persistent barrage of cannon fire. Players can carry this item, transforming Link (or Zelda) into a mobile tank until Tocktorok needs to be rewound. It’s incredibly effective in both offensive and defensive roles, making it a versatile asset in any scenario. Given its power, there’s a strong possibility that Nintendo/Grezzo might tone it down in a future update.
