It’s reasonable to say that the appeal and excitement surrounding the Borderlands series often revolves around its roster of Vault Hunters and the quality of loot. This trend likely won’t change with Borderlands 4, as it’s been noted already. Unfortunately, some fans have criticized the design of the new Vault Hunters in Borderlands 4 as being uninspired, which underscores the significance of these characters to the franchise. As we look forward to Borderlands 4, it might be interesting to revisit the characteristics and development of each playable character that has been featured in the previous four games.

In the Borderlands saga, not every Vault Hunter made it through the storyline’s trials. It’s highly improbable for those who didn’t survive to reappear in Borderlands 4, unless perhaps in flashbacks or as similar Non-Player Characters (NPCs). Given Borderlands’ quirky narrative and humor, it’s not out of the question that familiar characters might resurface in some form or another in Borderlands 4. Roland

Brick

Salvador

In the same position, Axton is equivalent to Borderlands 2’s character, Salvador. Another principal character among the four Vault Hunters in the game, Salvador co-stars with Axton in Borderlands 3 as an ECHO commentator during the Arms Race DLC, and at present, he is still alive.

Zer0

In Borderlands 3, Zer0’s role isn’t minimal compared to other recurring characters. Instead, he plays a significant part, particularly in the Maliwan vs. Atlas conflict. In the game “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel,” a character named Timothy was recognized as Jack’s Doppelganger. In the downloadable content (DLC) for “Borderlands 3” titled “Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot,” Timothy reappears. In this DLC, he plays a helpful role and remains alive at the end.

Aurelia

Information on Amara following the occurrences in Borderlands 3 is scant, making it hard to predict whether she’ll reappear in Borderlands 4. Nevertheless, it can be confirmed that she was still alive at the conclusion of BL3.

FL4K

Among the favorite characters in the series, FL4K is a robot beastmaster hailing from Borderlands 3. Similar to Amara, there’s uncertainty about where FL4K was during the events leading up to Borderlands 4, but it is assumed that they are still alive and kicking.

Moze
