As a long-time Disney enthusiast who has grown up with these timeless stories and characters, I must say that it is quite intriguing to observe the progression of Disney Dreamlight Valley in terms of character additions. It’s like watching my childhood friends slowly moving into this magical virtual world, one by one.
It’s quite astonishing that some beloved Disney Princesses are yet to appear in the popular game, Disney Dreamlight Valley, despite it featuring many other characters from the Disney brand. Although the game has incorporated more than half of these characters, there are still a few notable princesses missing from its lineup in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
It should be noted that this list covers official Disney princesses. This means that Disney heroines or female main characters that don’t have the title “Princess” are exempt from this list. Additionally, despite holding royal titles, Princess Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron and Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire , do not count as Disney does not have them on its official princess roster.
Princesses and Heroines in Disney Dreamlight Valley
7 characters from Disney’s list of official princesses have been incorporated into the character lineup for Disney Dreamlight Valley. These include Moana, Mulan, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, Rapunzel from Tangled, and Merida from Brave.
In addition to well-known Disney princesses, Disney Dreamlight Valley includes several heroines who aren’t part of the official princess lineup, such as Anna and Elsa from Frozen. Although they hold titles, they are not considered core Disney princesses due to the immense popularity of the Frozen franchise surpassing that of the classic Disney princess brand. Including them in the roster might overshadow their fellow royalty, but they were granted honorary princess status in Ralph Breaks the Internet.
Vanellope from “Wreck It Ralph” isn’t considered an official Disney princess due to her role as a supporting character in the films rather than the main protagonist. Moreover, her royal status is a surprising revelation towards the end of the first movie, and she tends to downplay her title.
In a more conversational manner, we can say: Mirabel from the movie Encanto is not an official Disney princess, despite her popularity and significant box office success. This is surprising because even though Mulan doesn’t hold a royal title, she is considered an official Disney princess. It seems that Disney has become selective about which heroines can be part of their princess roster since it was established as a brand IP, meaning that some characters who should be on the list are being left out.
Missing Princesses from Disney Dreamlight Valley
In the current scenario, there are a total of 13 Disney princesses recognized officially. As Disney Dreamlight Valley already boasts seven of these characters, it means that at least six more princesses are yet to be incorporated into the game for a complete roster.
Snow White
Although Snow White was the first Disney princess and the lead character in the very first American animated feature movie, she hasn’t been included in Disney Dreamlight Valley yet. It might be due to her age as a character, which makes her seem less contemporary compared to the other princesses featured in the game, most of whom are from the Disney Renaissance period onwards. However, with the upcoming live-action Snow White film scheduled for release in 2025, there’s a possibility that this timeless Disney princess could be introduced to tie in with the movie promotion.
Cinderella
In the world of Disney Dreamlight Valley, it’s surprising and unusual that Cinderella, a well-known Silver Age princess, isn’t part of the character lineup. This is particularly striking given that her iconic tie to Disneyland, such as her castle, and the fact that her Fairy Godmother is already present in Dreamlight Valley. Fingers crossed that Gameloft brings these beloved characters together again soon!
Aurora
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, it’s noticeable that Aurora, another official Disney princess from the Silver Age, is absent. Given Sleeping Beauty castle’s prominence in Disney history, it seems unusual not to see Aurora there. Interestingly, Maleficent, who is a beloved character from Sleeping Beauty, has been acknowledged by Disney Dreamlight Valley and will be introduced in the second half of the Storybook Vale DLC, around Summer 2025. One can only hope that Princess Aurora will join her soon after.
Jasmine
In the popular game “Disney Dreamlight Valley,” the main character and love interest of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, has been anticipated by players for a while now. Interestingly, her adversary, Jafar, as well as her royal advisor, already appear in the A Rift in Time expansion. It’s rumored that Genie might have granted fans’ wishes, as the 2025 content roadmap for “Disney Dreamlight Valley” hints at Aladdin and Jasmine being included in the game early next year. The sneak peek image features their distinctive headwear, implying that both characters could soon be part of the game.
Pocahontas
Introducing Pocahontas into Disney Dreamlight Valley might stir up debate, given her status as a Disney princess and the controversy surrounding the historical inaccuracies and offensive portrayal in her movie during the 90s Disney Renaissance. Despite this, incorporating Pocahontas could introduce some exciting new features. For instance, Meeko, her raccoon friend, could make for an interesting premium companion. Moreover, the game already showcases a leaf pattern reminiscent of the leaves featured in the “Colors of the Wind” song from Pocahontas, suggesting that the film could potentially inspire new decorative items for the game.
Raya
In the latest animation, Raya from “Raya and the Last Dragon” has been declared as the newest Disney princess. Born into royalty as a chief’s daughter, she qualifies for this prestigious title. The movie was released in 2021, making it fairly new and a fitting addition to games like Disney Dreamlight Valley. In fact, Raya’s sword design is already available within the game, hinting at her potential inclusion. As for companions in the game, Raya’s pet Tuk Tuk, a pug-hybrid armadillo pill bug, stands out. Despite his larger size compared to other animal buddies in Disney Dreamlight Valley, he could bring an enjoyable dynamic as a player’s companion. Scale him down for cuteness or leave him at his movie size for some amusing antics!
It’s highly probable that all the official Disney princesses will eventually be incorporated into the game Disney Dreamlight Valley. Until the remaining princesses join their fellow rulers, gamers can still interact with other royal figures within the realm of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
