Every Food-Themed Devil Fruit In One Piece

As a seasoned pirate who has sailed the Grand Line for decades, I’ve come across my fair share of peculiar Devil Fruits. But none have left me as intrigued and slightly bewildered as the ones I’m about to tell you about today.

First off, we’ve got Vasco Shot and his flaming, alcohol-infused spitfire! A pirate who loves his grog a little too much, it seems he’s found a way to make even the Dai Yokai envious. But beware matey, for if you cross him, you might end up with more than just a hangover!

Next up, we’ve got Gasparde and his candy syrup Logia. Now I’ve seen some odd powers in my time, but turning into liquid toffee? That’s a new one even for me. And let me tell you, if you ever find yourself face-to-face with this sugary sweet devil, make sure you’ve got some flour handy – because nothing says “Game Over” quite like a good ol’ fashioned pie fight!

Now, if you’re looking to control a horde of Beasts Pirates, or maybe just want to befriend a centaur, then look no further than Tama and her dumplings. With the power to make even Kaido’s subordinates bend to her will, this little girl has got more sway over pirates than Blackbeard ever did!

Last but not least, we’ve got our very own Queen of Candy, Gasparde. With the ability to mold her candy syrup into all sorts of shapes and forms, she’s a force to be reckoned with. But remember, if you find yourself wrapped up in her sweet web, just shout “I’m allergic to sugar!” – it might just save your life!

So there you have it, folks! A taste (pun intended) of some of the most unique Devil Fruits out there. Just remember, always keep a bottle of rum and some flour close by – you never know when you’ll need them!

Although they are called “Devil Fruits”, these fruits are said to have an unpleasant taste. Unsuspecting individuals might consume the entire fruit thinking it’s edible, not realizing that just one bite grants a person its power. However, there are several Devil Fruits that enable their users to utilize abilities related to different types of food.

For a Devil Fruit to be included in this list, it must indisputably relate to food or nutrition; borderline cases like Tamago’s Devil Fruit (which concentrates on the diverse life stages of a chicken, not its role as an eatable item), will not be considered. Users of these Devil Fruits have generally succeeded in incorporating various plausible edible items into their inventories.

11. Baku Baku no Mi

Eating the Inedible

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Wapol

The Baku Baku no Mi, Wapol’s special Devil Fruit, sets it apart due to its power being influenced by the user’s diet. This unique ability lets the user consume objects that are normally inedible, treating them as regular food. Following consumption, the user can transform these ingested items into parts of their own body or even use them as weapons. Moreover, Wapol has the skill to combine multiple consumed objects into more complex creations, a talent he demonstrates not only with his followers but also with random trash, which he turned into novel toys when he accidentally ate it. Additionally, Wapol can reduce his size by swallowing himself and altering his skeletal structure.

For a user of the Baku Baku no Mi, the duration they can summon an object after consumption is approximately one day, and the food’s appetite-inducing properties dictate the usage of its newly acquired powers. Interestingly, Wapol’s preferred food due to his Devil Fruit is said to be “baked houses.” However, it remains uncertain if the user can summon conventional meal powers or if they will crave unique foods post-consumption, but it might be plausible that their previous favorite meals no longer satisfy them.

10. Kuku Kuku no Mi

Food Everywhere

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Streusen

Streusen belongs to one of the original groups within the Big Mom Pirates, a band of pirates led by Charlotte “Big Mom” Linlin. This pirate gang incorporates elements of food into its theme, resulting in many of its members appearing frequently on such lists due to their high numbers.

The Kuku Kuku no Mi, also known as Streusen’s Devil Fruit, gives its user the unique ability to turn any inanimate object into edible food. For instance, we’ve seen him carve slices of meat from a log using a sword or knife. It remains uncertain whether this is his preferred method or if it’s inherent to the power itself. The transformed objects offer nourishment, yet they’re infamous for their terrible taste, much like other Devil Fruits. Interestingly, Streusen himself is said to be a master chef.

While you might initially consider its purpose to be only for survival needs, it also serves strategic benefits as well. Instead of using it for its original intended purpose, Streusen transformed the Whole Cake Chateau into a sponge cake, with the intention of protecting the people inside the building and those in the surrounding city from potential harm.

9. Kuri Kuri no Mi

Creaming the Competition

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Charlotte Opera

The Charlotte Opera character is more aptly referred to as the Minister of Whipped Cream, given his unique ability to generate and manage cream substances. In extreme situations, this cream’s sugar content can inflict third-degree burns on opponents who come into physical contact with him. Interestingly, Opera is one member of a set of five quintuplets, all sharing similar traits such as long beards, short statures, and bumpy scalps. To distinguish himself from his siblings, Opera has taken to covering himself in cream. This strategy may serve tactical purposes, as enemies are likely to sustain burns upon touching his cream-covered body.

8. Bata Bata no Mi

Butterfingers

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Charlotte Galette

Charlotte Galette serves as the Minister of Butter, and with her Bata Bata no Mi Devil Fruit, she can generate and manipulate this dairy product. Notably, Galette’s butter possesses a high degree of stickiness, allowing her to employ it in restraining adversaries. However, the full extent of its power as either a weapon or sustenance has yet to be fully explored, possibly because Galette has had limited screen time so far.

7. Mochi Mochi no Mi

A Special Paramecia

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Charlotte Katakuri

In a different phrasing, we can say: Charlotte Katakuri serves as the Minister of Flour, but his Devil Fruit abilities don’t solely revolve around flour. Instead, they stem from mochi (a type of Japanese rice cake), which is embodied in the Mochi Mochi no Mi. Unlike traditional Devil Fruits, Katakuri can shape-shift into and manipulate mochi, a somewhat unusual trait usually linked to Logia abilities. However, since his power isn’t tied to an element or natural substance like most Logias, it is classified as a “Special Paramecia.” Similar to Logia users, Katakuri is immune to attacks that aren’t coated with armament haki, or other substances capable of nullifying him, such as seastone. The classification distinction might be due to mochi not being an element or natural substance, unlike the majority of canon Logia fruits in the series.

In terms of certain aspects, Katakuri’s Devil Fruit, while sharing properties related to Logia, operates much like the Gomu Gomu no Mi. This enables him to utilize limbs (though they are manipulated by mochi) and frequently reinforce these attacks with Armament Haki. Interestingly, Katakuri has also awakened the Mochi Mochi no Mi, granting him the ability to transform his environment into mochi as well.

6. Pero Pero no Mi

Candy Coated Combat

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Charlotte Perospero

Charlotte Perospero serves as the Minister of Confections, and his abilities stem from the Devil Fruit known as the Pero Pero no Mi, which enables him to manufacture and manipulate candies. Given his exceptional skills in candy sculpting, this fruit grants him a diverse range of powers. Impressively, Perospero is capable of crafting what appears to be a fully operational replica of Caesar Clown’s laboratory using nothing but his candies. He frequently employs these abilities to fabricate an assortment of weapons, such as bows, axes, and more.

5. Shibo Shibo no Mi

A Juicy Form Of Torture

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Charlotte Smoothie

In her role as the Minister of Juice, Charlotte Smoothie – fittingly named – demonstrates powers that are hardly unexpected. Her Shibo Shibo no Mi allows her to extract juice not just from inanimate objects, but also living entities, causing them to dry out simultaneously. This extracted juice can be absorbed by both her physical weapons and her body, enhancing their size and power. Interestingly, Smoothie often chooses to squeeze juice using her hands, although she has been observed doing so with her sword as well.

Instead of the majority of Devil Fruit powers, this one’s juice tastes delightful, which is unusual because it doesn’t originate from the fruit itself. For example, Smoothie was observed enjoying the taste of a woman’s juice after extracting it from her body. The flavor of the juice appears to change based on its source. Intriguingly, at Sanji and Pudding’s wedding, we see Smoothie squeezing uncommon items like a giraffe and a volcanic rock to produce juice.

4. Bisu Bisu no Mi

A Biscuit Battalion

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Charlotte Cracker

As a seasoned observer of the strange and unusual, I’ve seen many peculiar individuals, but none quite like Charlotte Cracker, the Biscuits Minister. With his Bisu Bisu no Mi, he’s got a knack for creating and manipulating biscuits like they were playthings. A simple clap, and out come rows upon rows of these seemingly endless treats. But don’t be fooled by their innocent appearance – those biscuits can transform into lifelike puppets that attack with ruthless efficiency.

I’ve seen him use this power to great effect in battle, creating legions of biscuit soldiers to overwhelm his opponents. It’s a sight to behold, I must say. But what intrigues me most about Cracker is his penchant for deception – he’s been known to hide within one of these puppets, making it nearly impossible for his enemies to tell him apart from his creations.

The hardness of the biscuits is no joke either; they’re tough as nails and difficult to chew through. If you find yourself ensnared in Cracker’s powers, you’d better be ready for a good old-fashioned brawl to break free. All in all, Charlotte Cracker is one of the most unique and formidable characters I’ve come across in my travels, and I can’t wait to see what other tricks he has up his sleeve.

In a turn of events, Cracker successfully ascended through the ranks, earning himself one of the crew’s prestigious positions known as the Three Sweet Commanders. This position is reserved for the Big Mom Pirates’ highest-ranking officers, including Smoothie and Katakuri. Nevertheless, Cracker’s effectiveness can be compromised due to certain situational vulnerabilities. In an 11-hour battle, a duo consisting of Nami, who can summon rain with her clima-tact, and Luffy, known for his insatiable appetite, emerged victorious against Cracker.

3. Kibi Kibi no Mi

Taming Treats

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Kurozumi Tama

Kurozumi Tama’s special fruit grants her the ability to craft dango dumplings. By making a circular pinch with her thumb and index finger on her cheek, she conjures these dumplings. However, these dumplings lack nutritional value but can subdue an animal for a whole month, making it obedient to her commands. Tama is the unique creator of these dumplings, and animals under her control will follow her instructions precisely. This skill had significant impacts during the conflict between the Kozuki and Kurozumi families. Although she is a member of the Kurozumi lineage, Tama is committed to restoring honor for the Kozuki clan and has been nurtured by Sukiyaki, one of its loyalists.

Several members of the Beasts Pirates were found to utilize SMILEs, which are artificial Devil Fruits modeled after the Zoan type. Unlike genuine Zoans, these SMILEs grant their consumers permanent animalistic characteristics, essentially transforming them into part-animals. Tama exploited this feature to control these individuals, with Speed, one of Kaido’s lieutenants who resembled a centaur, being a prominent example. By doling out dumplings to each SMILE user, Tama managed to sway a portion of Kaido’s troops against their leader. However, the creation of these dumplings requires energy, and excessive usage can tire Tama. Moreover, these powers are ineffective on regular Zoan users because they have the ability to voluntarily control their animal traits.

2. Gabu Gabu no Mi

An Alcoholic Attack

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Vasco Shot

Vasco Shot, as suggested by both his name and nickname, is known for his heavy drinking habits. His Devil Fruit, the Gabu Gabu no Mi, was one of several obtained by different members of the Blackbeard Pirates during their pursuit of various powers to bolster their collection. He’s only demonstrated a single named attack with this fruit, where he spits out alcohol that mysteriously ignites, which can be used to set his enemies ablaze.

As a novice in wielding this freshly discovered power, I’m still figuring out the intricacies of how it functions, but if it enables me to conjure and manipulate alcohol, it doesn’t take much imagination to comprehend why I find myself drawn to it like a magnet.

1. Ame Ame no Mi

A Sticky Situation

  • This Devil Fruit was consumed by Gasparde
  • Note: This Devil Fruit is non-canon

Among all Devil Fruits themed around food, Gasparde’s is exceptionally rare as it belongs to the Logia type, unlike most Paramecias. With his Ame Ame no Mi, Gasparde can transform into, generate, and manipulate a substance akin to dark green candy syrup. He can shape this substance into sharp spikes for offense, use it as an adhesive against enemies, or evade attacks by converting himself into it. This ability is reminiscent of several other sweet-based powers in many ways.

Distinctively, Gasparde appears to manipulate candy syrup in both solid and semi-liquid forms, unlike many Logia users who primarily utilize their elements in a single state. Yet, similar to some Logia, it possesses an additional vulnerability that adversaries can exploit to neutralize it. Specifically, the Ame Ame no Mi is susceptible to flour; when Gasparde encounters this substance, he becomes vulnerable to physical attacks.
