Ever since “The Great Imu” made an appearance during the Levely Arc of One Piece, “Imu” has been a constant shadowy figure behind all significant crises depicted in the story, particularly those involving the World Government and the Marines. Occasionally, her power and influence have surfaced, like when she razed the Lulusia Kingdom or dispatched Saint Jaygarcia Saturn to Egghead Island. Yet, for the most part, viewers are yet to witness the full extent of her abilities.

Before the arrival of Chapter 1150, it was thought that Imu’s abilities were unknown. However, in this chapter, she demonstrated some of her powers, displaying a terrifying display unlike anything seen in the series up to that point. It is not certain whether her powers originate from a Devil Fruit or an ancient source long forgotten. Here is a list of all the powers and abilities Imu has displayed so far in One Piece, comparing each of her abilities with a similar Devil Fruit power, showcasing just how diverse and adaptable her abilities are.

Just like other divine warriors in the sacred realm, Gunko obtained exceptional powers and everlasting life from the powerful Imu. However, this divine blessing comes with a condition: Imu can temporarily inhabit Gunko’s body or any other God’s Knight, controlling them at her will, whenever and wherever she desires.

Although there’s no identical power, some Devil Fruits let users control others’ bodies, similar to what Doflamingo does with his String-String Fruit. By connecting his strings to a target, he gains control over their actions entirely. Remarkably, at one stage, he manipulated the entire Dressrosa Royal Guard into harming their own people.

Observing closely, it’s evident that when Imu assumes control over Gunko, an extraordinary metamorphosis unfolds. This transformation is marked by a striking change in her physical appearance. Two enormous, bat-like wings emerge from her back, a long, robust tail extends from her lower region, and she wields a jet-black trident, perfectly completing the demonic aesthetic. The giants who have been transformed into demons by Imu also exhibit a similar appearance, characterized by prominent fangs and elongated horns, though these may be concealed on Gunko due to her mask and hat.

In the world of One Piece, various races are showcased within the narrative, yet demons are not among them in the contemporary era. This leaves room for speculation that Imu could belong to an ancient demon race that has become extinct. Interestingly, there exists a character who shares a striking resemblance with Imu’s demonic form – Magellan, the previous warden of Impel Down prison. Much like Imu, Magellan possesses bat-like wings, horns, and fangs. Whether this similarity is merely coincidental or if Magellan descends from this ancient race remains uncertain, but the resemblance cannot be ignored.

Among the formidable abilities in the New World, none are as potent and terrifying as the Conqueror’s Haki. It’s no surprise that even the enigmatic character Imu wields this ability, but not just any ordinary version. Upon taking over Gunko’s body, an extreme surge of Conqueror’s Haki erupted, affecting a vast area and sending several Giant warriors crashing to the ground. This power she possesses is truly immense.

In the series, many notable users of Conqueror’s Haki have been introduced, most of whom belong to the older generation, such as Scopper Gaban and Garp. Among the current generation of pirates, it seems that “Red-Haired” Shanks holds the most potent Conqueror’s Haki. At the conclusion of the Wano Country arc, his Haki was powerful enough to intimidate Aramaki, one of the Marine Admirals. While it’s uncertain if Shanks could defeat numerous powerful Giant warriors like Imu did in Elbaf using only his Conqueror’s Haki, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing such a feat soon.

She breaks free by impaling Brogy’s grip with the dagger, then employs the giant pistol to blow off his hand.

There are several characters who have the ability to craft weapons using their Devil Fruit powers. Kizaru can forge a long sword from light, Aokiji can create an icy sword, and Mr. 3 manufactures various tools and arms out of wax. However, it is Baby 5 and her Arms-Arms Fruit that can construct intricate weapons. Among all Devil Fruit users in the world of One Piece, the one with a comparable power is Blueno. He was initially a member of CP9 and later advanced to CP0, joining Rob Lucci and others. His Devil Fruit grants him the ability to create doors on any surface, including mid-air. These doors can be linked to any location he desires. Blueno has demonstrated his doors’ capability for instantaneous travel over vast distances, but it remains uncertain if they can facilitate travel between countries, like Imu’s teleportation circle does.

What’s particularly chilling is that Imu has the power to initiate the contract without the other party’s approval; she can simply choose to bind someone in this manner, leaving them with no say in the matter.

The Devil Fruit reminiscent of a one-sided, transformative agreement is Sugar’s Plaything Playplay Fruit. By using the power of her Devil Fruit, Sugar has converted numerous Dressrosa residents into toy-like beings. Following transformation, Sugar imposed a contract upon her victims, compelling them to obey every command she gave or any rules she established for them.

This is the method by which characters such as Dorry and Brogy, esteemed captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, come to betray their own comrades, standing ready to strike down their elders.

Many Devil Fruits have powers to command others’ bodies, yet none completely dominate minds. The most akin one is Pudding’s Memo-Memo Fruit, letting her alter people’s memories. However, there exists a Devil Fruit with comparable mind control potential just once; it’s only discovered outside the main storylines.

The character’s name is Breed; he serves as the primary villain in the Caesar Retrieval storyline, and his Devil Fruit is called the Pet-Pet Fruit. This particular arc occurs exclusively within the anime series, bridging the gap between the Punk Hazard and Dressrosa arcs.
