Every Pokemon GO January 2025 Eggs-pedition Feature Confirmed So Far

As a long-time Pokemon GO enthusiast, I must say that the upcoming January Eggs-pedition event sounds like a dream come true! With its focus on hatching Eggs and spinning PokeStops, this event is right up my alley. The daily Incubators and the ability to hold, open, and receive more gifts per day are particularly exciting additions.

2025’s Pokemon GO adventure, called Eggs-pedition Access and part of the Season of Dual Destiny, is set to begin. To join this event, players need a ticket, which can be bought from the in-game shop at a cost. This ticket will enable us to start 2025 on a high note by hatching numerous Eggs, collecting plenty of Gifts and bonus experience points, and finishing Timed Research tasks to gather even more rewards!

Note that players must purchase a ticket in the in-game store in order to participate in the Eggs-pedition event. The January Ticket, which costs $4.99 USD, includes access to the event and all the gifts, XP bonuses, and timed research detailed below. The Ultra Ticket, which costs $9.99 USD, includes access to both the January and February Eggs-pedition events as well as an exclusive Egg Incubator Backpack avatar item. Both tickets will be on sale until January 10, 2025. A separate ticket for the February Eggs-pedition only may be available at a later date.

Lots of Big XP Bonuses

Suiting the inaugural occasion of the 2025 January Eggs-pedition, which marks the beginning of a brand-new year, the event offers abundant opportunities for players to amass significant XP by engaging with Pokemon GO. Whether novice players aiming to swiftly advance levels or seasoned players in need of millions of XP per level, this event caters to all. The bonuses encompass:

  • 3X XP for the first Pokemon caught each day in January
  • 3X XP for the first Gym or PokeStop spun each day in January

Special Timed Research

During the Eggs-pedition event, you’ll encounter Special Timebound Quests. These quests will be active from January 1, 2025, and they expire on January 31, 2025. Remember, all rewards earned from these timebound quests must be claimed by the close of day on January 31, or you’ll lose access to them. The main rewards for this event have been unveiled: 15,000 XP and 15,000 Stardust. As for additional rewards within these timebound quests, such as catching Pokémon, it remains a mystery at the moment.

For the Timed Research event, the exact duties to be performed aren’t clear as of now. But considering the theme of the event, it’s possible that tasks might involve activating PokeStops and utilizing Incubators to hatch Eggs. Since the Season of Dual Destiny emphasizes the Unova region from Pokemon Black and White and their sequels, participants may encounter tasks that require catching or hatching Pokemon originating from this particular region.

Incubators, Gifts, And More

Without a doubt, an event centered around hatching Pokemon GO Eggs wouldn’t be whole without an abundance of incubators. During the January Eggs-pedition, players who bought access would receive one single-use Incubator each time they spun a PokeStop or Gym for the first time in a day. Players who consistently spun a Gym or PokeStop daily during January could collect up to 31 single-use Incubators. As of now, it’s uncertain if February’s Eggs-pedition will offer daily Incubators as well, but there’s a chance that it will.

Towards the end of January, during the Eggs-Pedition Access period, players taking part will have an increased capacity to handle, receive, and unwrap a greater number of gifts daily compared to the regular limit in Pokemon GO. This could motivate players to visit more PokeStops and exchange more Gifts with their in-game friends. Since Gifts may contain useful items such as Potions, Berries, or even Eggs, this added capacity is quite beneficial. The event’s exclusive bonuses include:

  • Players can hold up to 40 Gifts in their Item Bag
  • Players can open up to 50 Gifts per day
  • Players can receive up to 150 Gifts per day via spinning PokeStops or Gyms
