As the 30th anniversary of Pokemon approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating what the future holds for the series. While nothing is official yet, a large leak of information over the past year suggests the next generation – potentially called Pokemon Wind and Wave – will be a significant release. Details about the new region, reportedly inspired by Indonesia and featuring an island setting, have surfaced, but information about the Pokemon that will appear in the game remains scarce.
Information about the upcoming Pokémon Wind and Wave games has recently been revealed, giving players a preview of the different areas they’ll explore, the types of Gym Leaders they’ll battle, and a new battle feature called “Majin.” While the official details are still forthcoming, this has given fans a solid idea of what to anticipate in the tenth generation of Pokémon games. Additionally, despite a lack of official information about the Pokémon that will appear in the game (the Pokedex), some leaked images suggest that several familiar Pokémon will be returning in Pokémon Wind and Wave.
Pokemon Leaked to Be in Wind and Wave So Far
Most of what we know about Pokemon Wind and Wave comes from a large data leak – specifically, early versions of the upcoming games. CentroLeaks has been sharing this information on X (formerly Twitter), but it’s important to remember that things could have changed during development. Until Nintendo officially announces the new games and the Pokemon they’ll feature, all of this information remains unconfirmed.

Even before the names of the new Pokémon games (now known as Wind and Wave) were revealed, some early leaks about Generation 10 Pokémon started appearing online. A post on X (formerly Twitter) by HiddenPowerPod showed a screenshot that supposedly came from an early version of the Gen 10 battle system, featuring Aron and Lairon. The original source of the leak also claimed to have seen Butterfree and Charjabug in the test version of the game.
Leaks have revealed that several original Pokémon, including Charizard, Pikachu, and Machamp, will be featured in the upcoming Pokémon Wind and Wave. Screenshots shared by CentroLeaks show these Pokémon with updated designs. While it wouldn’t be surprising to see Pikachu – the face of the Pokémon franchise – in the new games, it’s also great to hear that other fan favorites from the first generation are making a comeback.
Okay, so the leaks are getting pretty exciting! Apparently, instead of a bike, we’re getting a Rotom-powered scooter – which is awesome! And it looks like Lucario is definitely coming back, I’ve seen it in a bunch of early game screenshots. There’s also some buzz about Sandygast and Mudsdale showing up in those same screenshots, but honestly, it’s hard to say if they’re just temporary stand-ins or if Game Freak is actually planning to bring them back for this generation. We’ll have to wait and see!
Recent screenshots suggest Shinx and Gyarados might not be included in the final version of the upcoming Generation 10 game. A video from CentroLeaks also revealed Dondozo, Luvdisc, and Lumineon appearing in what looks like a water environment. While this seems to highlight the improved water effects, it’s probably from an early version of the game.
New Pokemon Coming to Gen 10’s Wind and Wave
Not much information has been revealed about the new generation 10 Pokémon in the upcoming Wind and Wave game, and what we know so far is mostly just descriptions. One Pokémon is said to be a seed-like creature given to players early on, which can evolve into countless different forms based on how it’s cared for throughout the game. While we haven’t seen what the generation 10 starter Pokémon look like yet, rumors suggest you’ll obtain them by capturing them after they cause a traffic jam in the game’s starting city.
How Pokemon Wind and Wave’s Leaked Region Map Could Influence Gen 10’s Pokedex
Recent leaks for Pokemon Wind and Wave suggest the game will feel very similar to Pokemon Sun and Moon from the Alola region (Generation 7). Many of the Pokemon shown or described so far, like Charjabug, Sandygast, and Mudsdale, are iconic creatures from Alola, hinting that the new game aims for a comparable experience. Leaked area names also suggest certain Pokemon will appear, even if they haven’t been officially revealed. For example, a location called “Woobat Cave” strongly suggests Woobat will be present, and “Anthill Fieldlands” could mean Durant or a new bug-inspired Pokemon will be found there.
Given that Pokemon Wind and Wave involves traveling between islands, it’s safe to say water will play a big role in the game. We’ve already seen Pokemon like Dondozo, Luvdisc, and Lumineon, and these are likely just a few of the many Water-type Pokemon we can expect. Pokemon Sun and Moon featured almost 60 different Water-type Pokemon, and with over 1,000 Pokemon available now, Wind and Wave will have a lot to choose from for its Pokedex. Until the game is released, leaks will continue to give fans a preview of what to expect in the tenth generation of Pokemon.
