As a seasoned Call of Duty veteran with over two decades under my belt, I must say, the reveal of the Terminus map for Black Ops 6 Zombies has me positively giddy! Ever since my days on Mob of the Dead back in Black Ops 2, I’ve been a sucker for prison-themed maps. And let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good round-based zombie slaughterfest?
In Black Ops 6, Terminus is among the initial zombie game levels, offering a return to the traditional, level-based gameplay within the undead mode.
BO6 is almost within reach, with each passing day bringing us closer to October 25th, and the details are trickling in. Among these details are sneak peeks at the Zombies mode, as well as the knowledge that there will be two launch maps: Liberty Falls and Terminus.

Black Ops 6 Terminus map location & details
In Black Ops 6 Zombies, Terminus will be a launch map with rounds, nestled on an isolated penal colony in the Pacific Ocean. This intriguing island setting was unveiled at the 2024 Xbox Showcase, providing us with our initial glimpse of its grim, stormy surroundings, and introducing the playable characters: Gigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mac Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo.
As a hardcore gamer, I’ve found myself trapped in the heart of the infamous Black Cite. My team and I are on a mission to break free from this fortified compound. In our recent demo, we witnessed thrilling snippets of gameplay where our characters battled hordes of Zombies within the prison walls and outside, adding a chilling layer of tension to our escape attempt.
In the trailer’s concluding shot, the camera pulls back to encompass a broader view of the map, hinting at the possibility that we can explore a dockside location near the water as well.
Is Terminus a Rebirth Island remake?
Terminus isn’t a reimagined version of Mob of the Dead; instead, it’s an entirely fresh prison island design, while still maintaining a familiar atmosphere.
On August 1st, we received several hints about a possible Zombie scenario, and a blurry image of what seemed to be the Terminus map emerged within the gaming community, bearing a chilling resemblance to Alcatraz. This comparison led many to speculate that it could be similar to Mob of the Dead from Black Ops 2 Zombies, or perhaps even Rebirth Island in Warzone, as suggested by Charlie Intel’s X post.

Developers have unveiled plans for a blend of fresh elements and beloved features on the map known as Terminus. This means players might encounter Perks, traps, and additional surprises. Additionally, there’s an Easter egg hidden within the map that players will need to find. As for the large cannon in the trailer that shoots purple essence, it may be connected to this Easter egg in some way.
Further details about Black Ops 6 and the Terminus map, along with insights into multiplayer and possible integration with Warzone, are set to be unveiled at the upcoming Call of Duty Next event.
