Everything You Need to Know About Black Ops 6 Ranked Play

As a seasoned Black Ops player with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that Treyarch and Raven Software have really outdone themselves with Black Ops 6’s Ranked Play. The complexity they’ve added this year is a breath of fresh air in the competitive scene.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce Ranked Play starting from November 14th, and this year’s version has been designed with a more intricate structure compared to previous ones by Treyarch and Raven Software. To help you prepare, I’ll be providing a comprehensive overview of the Black Ops 6 Ranked Play system, so you can get ahead of the game.

Black Ops 6 Ranked Play Preparation

Once again, similar to past seasons, the competitive game modes for Black Ops 6’s Ranked Play will include Hardpoint, Control, and Search and Destroy. These formats are also planned for the Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 season.

How to Access Ranked Play in Black Ops 6

To participate in the Ranked Play mode, you should have successfully completed 50 multiplayer matches. It’s not enough to just take part; you need to emerge victorious from those games. If you win every other game, it would mean playing approximately 100 games before gaining access to Ranked Play. However, it is good to note that any existing match wins will be taken into account when meeting the entry requirement.

Ranks in Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6 will use the same ranking system present in past games:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Crimson
  • Iridescent
  • Top 250

New Features in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play

Activision’s teams have added a series of new features to Black Ops 6’s Ranked Play ecosystem.

Map and Mode Veto

Prior to each game, a selection of three map and gameplay modes will be displayed to the players. Each team is then allowed to veto one of these combinations, independently. This implies that only one set will proceed for the match, offering players the ideal chance to engage in what they prefer to play.

Forfeit

If you encounter difficulties or problems from the start, your team has the option to declare a forfeit and conclude the game immediately. This will appear as a straightforward loss on your record, but that’s all there is to it. However, keep in mind that you must reach a certain point threshold before you can submit a forfeit request.

Black Ops 6 Ranked Play Skins

In Black Ops 6’s Ranked Play, players can earn and unlock various character skins as they progress through different tiers. Ranging from basic designs to the prestigious ‘Champion’, each skin becomes accessible once a specific tier is reached.

Restricted Weapons, Attachments, and Perks in Ranked Play

In the Ranked Play mode for Black Ops 6, it’s yet to be verified by Activision’s teams what items like attachments, perks, equipment, and weapons will be limited or unavailable.
