EXCLUSIVE: LEGO Voyagers Can be Completed in 5 Hours And Features Friends Pass & Mini-Games

Cooperative gaming isn’t returning, it has always been around. The new LEGO Voyagers game offers an adventure designed for two players in a magical world that you’re invited to discover. I was lucky enough to try it out at Gamescom 2025. Plus, I got to chat with Karsten Lund who shared some exciting details about the game in an exclusive interview, including its estimated playtime of around 5 hours and other interesting features.

Karsten serves as LEGO’s senior quality manager. He generously accompanied me on a brief walkthrough of the LEGO Voyagers demonstration. By then, it was possible that he had extensively played this demo after the conclusion of Gamescom 2025. Nevertheless, I engaged him in an exclusive interview focused on the LEGO Voyagers demo experience.

He enthusiastically addressed numerous crucial queries I had regarding the game, providing us with a glimpse into the game’s underlying reasons and elements.

LEGO Voyagers is Something “Everyone’s Ready to Play”

LEGO Voyagers aren’t tied to any particular media franchise or character with an engaging past. Instead, we’re interested in a pair of silent LEGO blocks on a mission to save a spaceship. Lund outlined the storyline and goals for the team behind Voyagers.

In this new game, we’re shifting the spotlight from minifigures to the bricks themselves and brick buildings. Instead of playing as traditional minifigures, you control a unique LEGO brick, a one-by-one brick with an eye, and navigate through levels that are entirely made of bricks.

I’ve pointed out some modern masters who have shined in their genre – particularly the work of Hazelight Studios, which Karsten seems to imply is opening up a new path forward, possibly referring to games like “It Takes Two” and “Split Fiction.

Furthermore:

“It’s something everybody loves to play and everybody’s ready to play.”

In the style of Hazelight games, LEGO Voyagers incorporates the Friends Pass system. This means that just one person needs to purchase the game for everyone to play together in cooperative mode. As it’s an easy-to-play, co-op LEGO release with broad appeal, it’s likely that the game’s success will ensure ongoing content updates.

In addition, I asked for information regarding the duration of the game and whether it includes entertaining mini-games to enhance the gameplay experience.

As an enthusiast, I’m excited to share that our tic-tac-toe experience offers numerous chances to join and socialize throughout the gameplay. It’s been observed that skilled players can conquer this game in roughly four and a half to five hours by swiftly tackling challenges, but remember, the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination!

In my comprehensive preview for Gamescom 2025, you’ll find my detailed thoughts on the LEGO Voyagers set. I highly recommend giving it a read!

The LEGO Voyagers game is set to launch on September 15. Are you planning to get it right away? Should we focus more on cooperative games rather than multiplayer-only ones? Feel free to share your thoughts on TopMob forum.
