Exclusive Superman Footage Leaked: Alan Tudyk’s Robot Voice Steals the Show!

As Superman‘s release in theatres approaches within approximately three months, excitement is building steadily. This week, CinemaCon takes place, and Warner Bros. chose this occasion to unveil some footage from their upcoming superhero movie that marks the start of the revitalized DC Universe. Now, this sneak peek has been made available online.

The forthcoming blockbuster, which aims to revitalize both the Superman movie series and the DC Universe (now known as just the DCU), is crucial for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios. Superman will mark the beginning of “Chapter One” in this rebranded DCU, a segment consisting of films and TV shows under the title “Gods and Monsters.” Notable, lesser-known characters like Supergirl, Clayface, and Swamp Thing are leading most of the Chapter One movies, suggesting that Superman is shouldering much of the responsibility for the DCU until Andy Muschietti’s Batman film, titled The Brave and the Bold, is launched. James Gunn, co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios, has shown his dedication to this project by deciding to pen, produce, and direct Superman himself.

Previously this week, at CinemaCon, James Gunn and his team unveiled a sneak preview of Superman, showcasing nearly four minutes of fresh material to an enthusiastic audience in Las Vegas. People who were there noted that the footage included lots of Krypto, the Superdog, and offered a look inside the Fortress of Solitude. Now, DC Studios has made this sneak peek available online, a move that seems strategic, given it precedes Disney’s major CinemaCon panel (a rather sly move, Mr. Gunn).

The Superman Sneak Peek Features A Familiar Voice As Robot 4

The Sneak Peek video starts off similarly to the initial teaser, showing Superman landing harshly in a frozen wilderness where he calls out for Krypto. In this sneak peek, viewers get a better sense of the bond between Superman and Krypto. When summoned, Krypto appears excited to frolic with Kal-El, but Superman looks quite weakened. Krypto seems not to understand that Superman isn’t up for playtime and may accidentally be too boisterous with his superhero pal.

Ultimately, Superman leads Krypto to their “home”, the Fortress of Solitude, which is filled with Kryptonian robots ready to help Superman’s health issues. Among them is Robot 4, who is famously voiced by actor Alan Tudyk, known for his exceptional work in giving voice to robots like Sonny from I, Robot, K-2SO from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Cosmo from The Electric State. When it comes to voicing robots, Tudyk is the perfect choice.

After learning that Superman has multiple broken bones and injuries to essential organs, the robots opt to administer a strong dose of sunlight to aid the hero’s recovery. Although this treatment will certainly heal his condition, David Corenswet’s agonized shrieks indicate the painful process of repair. The Sneak Peek continues by showcasing scenes that were previously featured in the trailer teaser.

As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I must say, the anticipation for the return of the iconic Superman is palpable! The excitement among the masses seems to be building up like never before. Here’s to hoping that DCU kicks off with a bang and truly challenges Marvel in the superhero stakes.

Superman is set to be released on July 11, 2025.
