According to reports from reliable sources, both the publisher and the development team are now optimistic that the release of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is set for March 20, 2025.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel optimistic! While it’s always wise not to rule out delays completely, Ubisoft appears well-prepared. They are ramping up marketing efforts for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is set to launch on March 20, 2025. They’ve even finalized the embargo dates for game reviews, suggesting a focused and organized approach.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows reviews will be live on March 18, 2025.
After consulting multiple team members involved in the game development, they expressed assurance that the project should be prepared for its scheduled launch in March. One team member even went as far as saying that the game is essentially finished at this point.
According to Ubisoft’s recent financial discussion, Shadows is matching Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in pre-orders at this point. In a positive evaluation of the early previews, critics have lauded its storyline and immersive experience. Both characters are essential to the game’s narrative. Additionally, the dual protagonist approach offers an engaging gameplay experience due to the quality and harmony of the interactions provided by both characters.
Currently, Shadows boasts approximately 300,000 pre-orders, while sources indicate that Odyssey had between 400-450,000 players on its first day. This means there’s a difference of around 100,000 to 150,000 players that Shadows needs to catch up in the next four weeks.
From a gamer’s perspective, I’ve got to say, Star Wars Outlaws, which didn’t quite live up to Ubisoft’s hopes, only managed to secure fewer than half of the pre-orders that Shadows has amassed in the same timeframe leading up to launch – a fact that’s been shared.
Based on current trends, Shadows may follow a similar sales pattern as Odyssey during launch. This could potentially lead to around 3.5 million copies sold within the first month. It’s important to note that Valhalla, the most successful game in the Assassin’s Creed series, boasted about 8 million unique players in its first month, with over 65% of these coming from consoles that were current-gen at the time.
