EXCLUSIVE – Year 2 Content is Planned for Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones

As a seasoned gamer with memories of swashbuckling my way through the high seas, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about Skull and Bones‘ Year 2 content! The prospect of new PvP modes, POIs, world tiers, and potential crossovers like Black Flag – it’s enough to make any pirate enthusiast’s heart race.

Ubisoft plans to release year 2 content for its quadruple A game Skull and Bones.

That’s according to sources who have knowledge of the plans for the pirate action-adventure game.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share that we’re gearing up for the start of Season 1 in Year 2! Expect a fresh wave of Player versus Player game modes, captivating Points of Interest, elevated world tiers, and plenty more exciting updates coming your way early next year. Can’t wait to jump back into the action with you all!

It’s worth noting that Ubisoft might be planning additional high-end crossover events, with a potential idea being a Black Flag event coinciding with the launch of the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake (known as Obsidian). However, whether this will actually happen is yet to be determined.

The news that Skull and Bones will be having Year 2 of content might surprise some, as the publisher recently canceled XDefiant, its free-to-play offering that saw nearly 300 people lose their jobs.

Despite some sources claiming that Ubisoft is determined to keep supporting the game and that its player numbers could be higher than expected, it’s important to note that TopMob couldn’t confirm the exact current player count. The game has been significantly discounted from its original £49.99 price on Ubisoft’s store page, now selling for only £20.00. Moreover, Ubisoft is offering a 6-hour free demo for PC users who want to test the game before purchasing.

In the early part of this year, it was shared by TopMob that within a week of its launch, Skull and Bones attracted approximately 850,000 gamers. This figure accounted for players who took advantage of Ubisoft’s complimentary 8-hour trial as well.
