As a huge fan of Formula One and having spent countless hours honing my skills in racing management games, I eagerly embraced each challenge presented to me during the preview of F1 Manager 24, even though I was still new to the genre.
Create a Team
I mainly focused on experimenting with the intricately detailed new Create a Team function in F1 Manager for hours on end, marking my first encounter with such a feature in this game.
In this setting, you’ll form a new team and face off against the ten well-known opponents you frequently encounter during races.
The choices you make regarding budget and resource allocation, as well as selecting your drivers, will significantly impact your team’s performance during the racing season.
As a gamer, starting a new team from the ground up and working towards a championship feels incredibly rejuvenating since it presents an entirely novel experience. Instead of solely focusing on the race itself, I’m compelled to consider various aspects like team management, finances, and strategic planning. It’s an engaging and multifaceted challenge that keeps me hooked!
When I wasn’t sure how the game would unfold, I selected two artificial intelligence drivers and assigned them each a seasoned racing engineer. It was during this process that I encountered the Mentality System for the first time.

The attitude or mindset of your team, represented by the Mentality System, influences both their on-track behavior and contract negotiations with you. In my case, selecting inexperienced AI drivers led to low Mentality scores for my race engineers, as they lacked confidence in the drivers. This, in turn, impacted the car setup and their performance during race weekends.
Both the driver’s and team members’ spirits were significant considerations for me, and maintaining their motivation at all times proved an engaging task. The Mentality System in the game is thoughtfully constructed, introducing an element of unpredictability that makes the experience more exciting, otherwise it might seem rather monotonous.
An intricate Sponsorship selection process is available, allowing you to choose your sponsor and desired goals depending on the required funds. After finishing this step, you’re all set for your inaugural race weekend in Bahrain.
Race weekends
As a dedicated gamer, I find the race weekend segment remarkably familiar yet enhanced from my gaming experiences in the past. I’ve invested considerable time and effort fine-tuning each car’s performance settings to ensure optimal results during the practice sessions on the track.
In the heat of races, I was introduced to F1 Manager 24’s latest mechanical issue element. Besides tires wearing down and fuel management, you must keep an eye on the ERS, gearbox, and engine. The persistent danger of mechanical malfunctions and continuous part degradation added authenticity and uncertainty to each competition.
In my initial race, one vehicle I was driving encountered mechanical issues. This was due to my excessive effort during practice and qualifying rounds. Consequently, my car struggled to secure a good position and unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the finish line in that race as it ran out of fuel on the final lap.

You can enhance your racing experience by utilizing the affiliate driver program. This feature allows you to bring on board aspiring racers from F2 and F3 categories as additional team drivers. They will have the opportunity to join you during practice sessions.
In Career Mode, you’ll start with a list of affiliated drivers. But when you choose Create a Team, you’ll have the ability to recruit new drivers as your team gains recognition.
FrontierThe choice of powertrain will affect the performance of your vehicle.While many may consider selecting affiliate drivers an insignificant task, it brings a great sense of achievement when you observe them being promoted to the main team and ultimately standing on the podium.
