Gray’s affection for Juvia becomes undeniable during the Fairy Tail 100 Year’s Quest arcs. At the start of the Wood Dragon arc, Gray encounters Lady Juvina, a look-alike from Fairy Nail, a well-known guild. Lady Juvina challenges Gray about his feelings for Juvia, even though Gray initially resists acknowledging them. After hearing about the difficulties Lady Juvina has faced, Gray recognizes his mistreatment of Juvia and vows to better himself so he can protect her. He then asks her to be his girlfriend.

During the Moon Dragon storyline, Gray discovers that Edolas Gray and Juvia have a boy named Greige. This knowledge makes him protective, leading to a minor argument with Natsu when he sees Greige gazing at Nasha, Lucy of Edolas, and Natsu’s daughter. However, in the struggle against Hakune, Gray is drawn into a self-illusion world where he and Juvia are parenting their son, Greige, surrounded by many dear ones to him. It is within this illusion that Gray openly confesses his desire to bring joy to Juvia’s life.

In a shift from his former detachment, Gray – upon returning from Edolas – has chosen to engage more positively with Juvia. To underscore this transformation, in Chapter 125 of Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest, Gray seeks knowledge on how to treat women, how to comfort a crying woman, and on being pursued romantically.
