This marks the arrival of the player who initially declined them, but now joins as a top acquisition. The first major move in the current post-CS2 Major player transfer period has been made.

In 2023, the Falcons attempted to recruit NiKo, one of Counter-Strike’s top riflers, for most of the year. However, NiKo opted to stay with G2 Esports for the 2024 season instead. Despite coming close, G2 and NiKo didn’t manage to win the Major they were chasing in 2024, but their campaign was still a successful one. The Russian AWP prodigy, m0NESY, flourished into one of the best players globally, and G2 further strengthened their team with the addition of Guatemalan sensation malbsMd. In 2024, G2 won tournaments like IEM Dallas, the BLAST Fall Final, and the BLAST World Final.

Regardless of the star-studded lineup that included Emil “Magisk” Reif, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen, the 2024 season proved to be a rocky and unmemorable one for Falcons. The team faced challenges all year long, including Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev who was playing on loan with them. The final blow came when they failed to qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major, which led to the end of s1mple’s loan and the benching of every player other than Magisk.

It appears that reports indicate that Falcons are contemplating a potential recruitment of three players: Damjan “kyxsan”, René “TeSeS”, and Abdul “degster”. At the moment, they all represent Heroic in Denmark. However, this is another situation where Falcs have missed out on their preferred player, as it seems that G2 has ended negotiations for m0NESY, who was previously mentioned.

As the massive NiKo domino has toppled, and the post-Major period drawing to a close within fortnight, anticipation is high for an influx of fresh player signings and transfer deals in the coming days.
