Fallout 76 Ghoul Character Update Coming March 2025

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of Fallout under my belt, I must admit, I’m eagerly anticipating the arrival of the ‘Player Ghoul’ update in March 2025. The prospect of playing as a Ghoul, healing by radiation and all, has me more excited than a Vault-Tec scientist at a Nuka-Cola party!

Bethesda Game Studios announced some time ago that an upcoming update will enable players to take charge of Ghouls in Fallout 76. This isn’t just about changing your character’s appearance; being a Ghoul comes with its own set of advantages and drawbacks, making the experience of playing as a decaying, irradiated creature quite engaging.

Previously, the team revealed the exclusive talents and bonuses forthcoming for Ghoul characters, however, they have yet to specify the arrival date within Fallout 76.

A Little Longer to Wait

In March 2025, Bethesda plans to launch the “Player Ghoul” update in conjunction with the game’s 20th season for Fallout 76. Previously, on December 3, the global release of the 19th season will be initiated, offering players around two months of fresh content, events, and exclusive deals.

In October, I outlined the concept of a Ghoul character in Fallout 76, detailing its distinctive traits, including the ability to recover from radiation exposure. Players choosing this route can absorb these effects.

Becoming a Ghoul is quite straightforward once you reach level 50. You’re given the freedom to metamorphose into one, and whenever you feel like it’s not to your liking, you can easily revert back to your original form.

Regrettably, we’ve got some time left before the update arrives. It appeared to be just around the corner, but Bethesda Game Studios tends to move slowly when it comes to Fallout 76 updates. Remember, this is a live service game, so it won’t be leaving our screens any time soon.
