As a dedicated fan of Obsidian Entertainment and their enchanting world of RPG games, I find myself constantly on the edge of my seat, eagerly awaiting any new information or developments about their upcoming titles. The recent update to art director Daniel Cabuco’s LinkedIn profile has sent ripples of excitement through our community, as it hints at yet another unannounced project brewing within the creative minds at Obsidian.
Fans on Reddit have noticed an update to the LinkedIn profile of art director Daniel Cabuco, suggesting that Obsidian Entertainment may be secretly developing a new, as-yet-unrevealed project.
In a recent update, Cabuco’s professional portfolio indicates that they have taken up the role of “Art Director” for an as-yet undisclosed project at Obsidian Entertainment, effective from July 2024. Unfortunately, specific details about the nature of this upcoming project remain undisclosed at this time.
Previously, the game developer known as Obsidian Entertainment has been involved in creating games like Fallout: New Vegas, Pentiment, Grounded, and the Outer Worlds franchise. Currently, they are also working on a new project called Avowed, which is scheduled for release later this year.
As a devoted admirer, I’ve been pondering – could it be that the mysterious upcoming game from Obsidian is a continuation of the epic tale we know as Fallout: New Vegas? Given the current climate, such a project seems particularly apt.
According to Microsoft’s recent financial statement, CEO Satya Nadella discussed the influence of Amazon’s live-action Fallout TV series. Interestingly, creative personnel involved in the show hinted last month that production for season 2 might have started earlier than expected.
Yet, several of Obsidian’s game titles are quite successful, which suggests that other intellectual properties might also be viable. Pentiment currently holds a 7.5 user score on Metacritic, and a physical version is due for release in the near future.
In June 2024, Obsidian Entertainment presented a detailed demonstration of their upcoming game, Avowed. The community anticipates that the release date for Avowed will be November 12, 2024.
Currently, there’s no official word from Obsidian regarding Cabuco’s involvement or the supposed project they are developing.
