The anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 components’ manufacturers have revised their sales projections for Q3 of 2025, potentially signaling a positive outlook for consumers planning to purchase a new console before the winter holidays. In essence, a rise in demand for Switch 2 parts by Nintendo from two key manufacturing partners could result in increased production and stock levels in time for the bustling holiday shopping season of 2025.
As a dedicated gamer since the Switch 2’s launch on June 5, I can personally attest to its incredible popularity. In just over a month, it’s broken records as the fastest-selling console in Nintendo’s history, with an impressive six million units sold by July 24. However, keeping up with demand has been challenging due to fluctuating stock levels. Retailers like Amazon have implemented an email notification and priority interest system to ensure that genuine buyers get their hands on this sought-after device.
The shortages have been quite frustrating, but Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged the issue in late June with a sincere apology. He promised that the company would work tirelessly to increase production and meet the overwhelming demand for the Switch 2. As a gamer, I’m eagerly waiting for more units to hit the market so I can join the millions of others enjoying this incredible console!
Nintendo is Ramping Up Switch 2 Production Ahead Of the Holidays
Despite the 2025 holiday shopping season being several months off, Nintendo and its collaborators are already gearing up for it. As reported by GoNintendo, two of Nintendo’s manufacturing allies, PixArt and Hosiden, have raised their sales predictions for the remaining portion of Q3 2025. This adjustment in forecasts is attributed to an escalating need for Switch 2 components, a possible indication that Nintendo is working towards producing more consoles and amassing inventory in preparation for the holiday shopping season. The revised sales forecasts for Hosiden and PixArt were disclosed on Bluesky by Nintendo Patents Watch.
Judging from the recent financial disclosures of its supply chain, Nintendo is preparing to boost the Switch 2 inventory for the holiday season. • PixArt Imaging #原相 expects 11-19% increase of sales to Nintendo (Jul-Sep) • Hosiden #ホシデン revised forecast of 6-mouth sales up 10.3% (Apr-Sep) 1/ — Nintendo Patents Watch (@ninpatentswatch.bsky.social) 2025-08-10T12:44:13.387Z
Hosiden, who manufactures parts and accessories for the Nintendo Switch, has upgraded its Q3 2025 sales projection following an increase of 10.3% on May 9. This revision was made after receiving extra orders from Nintendo, following the launch of the Switch 2 on June 5. Meanwhile, PixArt, known for producing mouse sensors for Nintendo’s Joy-Con 2 controllers, anticipates a sales rise ranging from 11% to 19% by September. Like Hosiden, these forecast alterations for PixArt are attributed to the surge in demand for the Switch 2 consoles and related accessories from Nintendo.

Despite the ramp-up in Switch 2 production before the 2025 holiday season, this development occurs amidst an unpredictable economic climate for the world. As a result of tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on goods from various nations, Nintendo has raised the prices of its original Switch consoles and accessories in the U.S. The starting price for the Switch Lite is now $229, previously being $199.
In other words, as the tariff situation continues to change, it’s uncertain whether Nintendo will raise the price of the Switch 2 console and accompanying bundles before the winter holidays. Given that sales of the Switch 2 have been robust despite inventory issues, we can only speculate about any further actions Nintendo might take.
