As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as the One Piece anime is gearing up for its grand comeback! It’s truly ironic how much the quality of this series has improved over time – just a few years ago, producing One Piece was a real challenge, resulting in an adaptation that some might call less than stellar, with moments of greatness scattered throughout. But now, things are looking brighter and better than ever!

Over the past few arcs, I’ve been truly astounded by the exceptional animation quality that One Piece has been dishing out. As a weekly anime, this level of visual storytelling is nothing short of remarkable within the industry. With its comeback in April, it seems that the bar for One Piece’s animation will be raised even higher. Here, I share some thoughts from an animator about the upcoming episodes.

One Piece’s Egghead Part 2 Is Highly Anticipated

One Piece Animator Sets High Expectations

For quite some time, enthusiasts have been patiently waiting for the resumption of the “One Piece” anime series, exactly six months, as a matter of fact. The much-anticipated comeback is right around the corner.

Starting next week, specifically on April 5th, 2025, the One Piece anime is making its comeback! What’s more, viewers will get to watch two episodes back-to-back – one on the 5th and another on the 6th. The anticipation is running high, so brace yourselves for an unforgettable experience! A sneak peek at the upcoming Egghead arc has already been shared in a trailer, which you can watch now on YouTube.

Excitedly speaking as a fellow enthusiast, I can’t help but feel thrilled when engaging with industry professionals, particularly those who have contributed to the magical world of One Piece anime. Just recently, Dong Chang, an esteemed animator from our community, graciously shared some intriguing tidbits about the forthcoming episodes on Twitter.

Recently, I attended an exclusive preview of the forthcoming #ONEPIECE episodes at Toei Animation’s freshly built studio. I believe fans are going to love them. Yet, it appears that Sensei is somewhat displeased with the change in the late-night schedule…

As a bystander, I must say that the animator, who’s had a sneak peek at the upcoming episodes, seems genuinely thrilled, and rightfully so. The quality of these new installments appears to be on par with, if not surpassing, the standards set prior to the hiatus. The animation for One Piece has seldom been this impressive as it is now.

This animator notes that a particular sensei expresses discontent regarding the shift in the airing time for “One Piece,” moving it from an early-morning to a late-night schedule. While some assume he’s referring to Oda, the creator of One Piece, it seems more likely that he’s discussing someone involved in the show’s production. However, the exact identity remains uncertain.

Where to Watch and Read One Piece?

Available on Crunchyroll and Manga Plus

As a keen observer, I must say that the current arcs of One Piece, whether in the manga or the anime, are nothing short of thrilling. At present, in the anime world, we’re deep into the Egghead arc. The tension is building, and when the anime resumes, it promises to become even more exhilarating as some formidable adversaries will make their entrance. For those who wish to follow along, the anime can be streamed on Crunchyroll.

As for the ongoing narrative in the manga, we’re right in the middle of the Elbaf arc, an arc that many enthusiasts consider among the finest in the whole saga. For those who want to jump in and follow this exciting storyline, they can do so by reading it on Manga Plus or Viz Media platforms.
