Fanum Plans Lawsuit Following NYPD Gun Threat and Lamborghini Confiscation

Highlights

  • Fanum plans to sue NYPD after an incident involving guns drawn during a live stream at the Dominican Day parade.

  • Walton, Fanum’s friend, was released from custody, as Fanum hints at legal action and potentially buying a Bugatti in the future.

As a long-time Twitch follower and gamer, I can’t help but feel disheartened by yet another incident involving law enforcement and a beloved content creator like Fanum. It seems that streaming platforms have become an increasingly dangerous space for creators, who are often targeted by authorities due to their high profiles and the chaotic nature of live broadcasting.

Fanum, a well-known Twitch streamer with a fan base of more than 2.44 million people, has revealed his plans to sue the New York Police Department (NYPD) after a recent occurrence. Known online as Roberto Gonzalez, this popular figure on Twitch is famous for streaming various games, with Grand Theft Auto 5 being a top pick, and frequently engaging in Just Chatting sessions.

More recently, during a livestream from the Dominican Day parade, Twitch personality Fanum encountered an unexpected interference from law enforcement. Startled, Fanum kept asking why officers, with guns drawn, had interrupted his broadcast. Sadly, Fanum’s stream came to an abrupt end following the arrest of his driver, Walton. The NYPD then drove off in Fanum’s Lamborghini Urus. Shortly thereafter, photos emerged online showing an NYPD officer triumphantly posing beside the confiscated sports car. Numerous clips of this incident spread rapidly on social media, leaving many fans anticipating Fanum’s reaction as he remained silent on the situation.

I’ve been following Fanum, a popular streamer, for quite some time now and was taken aback when I heard about his recent encounter with the New York Police Department during a live broadcast. As a content creator myself, I can only imagine the shock and frustration he must have felt when his Lamborghini Urus was suddenly seized by the police without any apparent reason.

Fanum’s Friend Walton Released

1. Fanum voiced disapproval towards the police for seemingly using his car as a backdrop for a publicity stunt, referring to it as an “impromptu photoshoot.” In closing, he suggested that if the lawsuit goes in his favor, he might invest in a Bugatti. The situation remains ongoing, and it’s important to recall a comparable incident last year involving streamer Kai Cenat. During one of his giveaways, Cenat found himself amidst chaos in New York City that culminated in his arrest along with his companion Duke.

Last year, content creator JiDion was detained during a live stream due to an incident related to a prank gone wrong. The event took place when he stepped into a classroom at the University of Houston for a prank, but declined to depart when requested by the university personnel.
