Far Cry 4 Censorship Patch Silently Removes Nudity 10 Years After Launch

I couldn’t believe it when Far Cry 4, out of the blue, received an update that surprisingly made the game feel less cold and bleak. The mysterious patch, which Ubisoft didn’t announce anywhere, has done away with explicit content in the game. This revelation was confirmed by observant Reddit users who launched the game to see what was fresh after the change.

Some people believe the modifications could be tied to Ubisoft’s recent collaboration with Tencent, which led to the creation of a new subsidiary that now manages titles like Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, and Rainbow Six. On March 31st, a quiet update was made to Far Cry 3, but players are still waiting to discover what alterations were made.

Out of Nowhere

The significant change becomes evident when the player steps into Shanath Arena. There, you’ll notice a female character who used to be bare-chested prior to the recent update. Her tattoos were positioned in such a way as to partially cover her breasts, but they were still visible. However, after the update was released, she now wears a bra-like attire that fully conceals her.

This is what was first noticed and shared by users on Reddit.

In the course of the game, another player inspected various characters, observing that Yuma’s character model remained unchanged even though it was rather revealing. Additionally, it was found out that Ajay Gale, the main character, no longer appears nude in the Shanath Arena. Instead, he now wears a loincloth to cover his genital area.

It’s been two years since Far Cry 4 was last updated, which has left some players wondering why this unexpected update appeared.
