Fast-killing Warzone LMG set to replace STG44 meta in Season 5 Reloaded

As a seasoned Warzone player with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that the STG44’s reign might soon come to an end, and the TAQ Eradicator LMG is primed to take its place as the king of the battlefield. I’ve seen many meta shifts in my time, but the STG and Static-HV have been virtually unbeatable lately.

Since the arrival of Warzone’s STG44 Assault Rifle with the Season 5 update, it has reigned supreme in battles. However, there’s a significant possibility that its rule will come to an end with the Season 5 Reloaded update. A formidable Light Machine Gun is standing by to claim its throne instead.

With each seasonal update comes adjustments to major weapons, and Season 5’s mid-season patch on August 31st won’t buck the trend. Although the specific changes remain unknown, I find it hard to imagine that the STG and Static-HV won’t significantly impact the gameplay; these guns are almost invincible compared to others when used.

Any gun could take their place with the right buff, but if the TAQ Eradicator LMG remains untouched, it’s in prime position to be the best gun in the game.

The reason the TAQ Eradicator stands out is due to its reliable high damage over long ranges when it comes to time to kill (TTK). At present, the STG has an edge in close combat within 37 meters, but the Eradicator excels in delivering quicker kills beyond that distance.

It seems that STG’s power in close combat may be reduced, allowing guns such as the TAQ Eradicator to become more prominent and potentially dominate the gameplay style (or meta).

The only problems are that its recoil is hard to control compared to the STG, and you’ll need to make sure you have a powerful SMG for close-range fights.

reddit users have pointed out that the BAL-27 Assault Rifle is a strong choice due to its well-balanced combination of damage output and minimal recoil.

Typically, a freshly introduced weapon in an update would be expected to take over the game’s metagame, but Season 5 Reloaded doesn’t seem to offer anything that could do so. The only new weapons added are the Spear Melee Weapon and a compound bow named Torque 35.

In capable hands, the Torque 35 Launcher can prove lethal, but it’s likely to be a specialized tool rather than a go-to option for mainstream gamers.

Of course, it’s hard to predict what the Season 5 Reloaded meta will be, but thanks to its fast TTK at long-range, my bets are on the TAQ Eradicator being a dominant choice ahead of Black Ops 6’s beta on August 30.
