In the announcement for “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves,” it was revealed that Hokutomaru is a new character joining the roster of the upcoming fighting game. This unveiling took place during the “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves” EVO showcase.
After a long wait of 26 years, here I am, thrilled as ever, to share that SNK is finally coming out with a brand-new installment of the iconic Fatal Fury series! The upcoming game, titled “City of the Wolves,” will bring back a roster of 17 beloved characters from our gaming past, including Terry Bogard, Billy Kane, Mai Shiranui, and Rock Howard.
However, what has fans like me buzzing is the inclusion of two unexpected additions to the launch cast – the renowned DJ Salvatore Ganacci and soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo! Can’t wait to see how they fit into the Fatal Fury universe! To top it all off, the developers have given us a sneak peek at one more character set to join the game before its release.
SNK officially unveiled Hokutomaru as the last playable character in “Fatal Fury: City of Wolves.” In addition to this news, they released a gameplay video revealing that Hokutomaru now wields his fists and feet rather than a wooden sword. Notable players like Saul “MenaRD” Leonardo, Bryant ‘Smug’ Huggins, and “King of Fighters” icon Lin “E.T.” Chia-hung were in attendance to show off the game’s characters. E.T., specifically, provided a glimpse into Hokutomaru’s moveset which blends the fighting techniques of two popular fighters.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Confirms Hokutomaru as Final Base Roster Fighter
Initially introduced in “Garou: Mark of the Wolves,” Hokutomaru is a pupil of both Andy Bogard and Mai Shiranui. His combat style combines aspects of Mai’s weapon-based techniques and Andy’s Kuhadan. Although he no longer wields the wooden sword, Hokutomaru continues to use shuriken, along with new moves, in his arsenal. Following the “Mark of the Wolves” tournament, during which he competed, Hokutomaru chose to reside in South Town, thanks to Terry’s assistance. As the next competition draws near, this young man intends to participate to demonstrate his growth since leaving the mountains.
Excited fans are gearing up for the upcoming launch of “Fatal Fury: City of Wolves” on April 24, which will be available on PCs and consoles. Hokutomaru has been confirmed as the last character in the initial roster. Furthermore, SNK has announced the “Fatal Fury: City of Wolves Season 1 Pass,” adding Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Chun-Li, Ken, and Mr. Big to the game at a later time.
