In Boston’s Six Invitational grand finale, the entirely Brazilian FaZe Clan team outplayed Team BDS convincingly, securing a 3-1 victory and claiming the tournament’s $3 million prize. Like a hero lifting a legendary symbol, FaZe Clan hoisted the iconic hammer aloft, while Team BDS, despite their impressive journey to the final, couldn’t match the resilience of FaZe Clan in the end.
Another Year Done
The Six Invitational has grown into an impressive spectacle, quickly establishing itself as the standard for such tournaments. As one of the largest esports competitions globally, the winner takes home a massive prize of $1 million, with no participant returning home without any reward.
At a packed venue in Boston, FaZe Clan triumphantly claimed the first position and pocketed a substantial amount of money as their reward.
FaZe Clan has participated in every Six Invitational since 2018, but this is their inaugural victory. They came in second place in 2024, having been defeated by w7m Esports in a tight match before an enthusiastic audience in Sao Paulo.
The final few weeks leading up to the major event were filled with intense drama. During the qualifying rounds, tensions ran extremely high and team M80 encountered severe consequences when their coach, Budega, had an explosive argument with DarkZero. This happened shortly after Gunnar from M80 went on a tirade against everyone involved, only to withdraw from the tournament the very next day.
FaZe Clan managed to triumph over Team BDS in their final match following a valiant journey through the loser’s bracket. This remarkable performance came after they were quickly eliminated from the main bracket by Spacestation.
After that point, the squad intensified their efforts and advanced, managing to defeat Spacestation Gaming, Liquid, Virtus, The Falcons, Unwanted, and ultimately FURIA Esports, a Brazilian team as well. This lower-bracket run was one of the most remarkable in esports history, culminating in FaZe Clan clinching the championship against Team BDS and taking home the $1 million prize.
That’s not bad at all.
Moments before the main event commenced, Ubisoft made a surprise appearance to unveil Siege X; learn more about it here.
