FBC: Firebreak Still Underperforming Despite Overhaul, Confirms Remedy

Despite a large new update, the game Firebreak isn’t performing as well as Remedy Entertainment had hoped, the studio has confirmed.

So, Remedy tried out multiplayer with *Firebreak* earlier this year, and honestly, it didn’t launch great. As a *Control* universe fan, I was excited, but a lot of players, including me, felt the beginning was rough and there just wasn’t a lot *to* do. Last month they dropped an update called Breakpoint, hoping to add more content – new threats, better weapons, the works – and make things better. Sadly, Remedy just admitted it didn’t really fix the problems, which is a bummer. I was hoping it would turn things around!

FBC: Firebreak Did Not Meet Internal Targets at Remedy, Studio Confirms

Remedy Entertainment announced in a post on its website that its game, FBC: Firebreak, hasn’t sold as well as the company hoped, even after recent changes. This announcement comes ahead of the studio’s official financial report on October 29th. According to CEO Tero Virtala…

Virtala explains that the company is recording a decrease in value for development costs and publishing rights related to the game *FBC: Firebreak*. Despite this, they are still working on improving the game and making future investments, adjusting their plans based on revised sales expectations.

Remedy Entertainment is facing up to 14.9 million EUR in non-cash losses, primarily due to the costs of developing and publishing their game, *FBC: Firebreak*. The game’s poor launch was unexpected, and the studio may have overestimated its potential. Despite its ongoing struggles and a very small player base – currently in the double digits – Remedy seems determined to continue working on the title. While the company has a strong track record of creating successful games like *Control* and *Alan Wake*, it remains to be seen if investing further in *FBC: Firebreak* will be worthwhile.
