As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for spine-tingling horror games that push my problem-solving skills to their limits, I can confidently say that “Fear the Spotlight” has proven to be an exceptional addition to my gaming library. The shift from Vivian’s story to Amy’s tale is a refreshing change of pace, offering a unique perspective on the same events.
Once you’ve conquered the game’s final boss and concluded Vivan’s tale in “Fear the Spotlight“, players have the opportunity to delve into Amy’s narrative. Initially, both stories start identically, with characters in the library. However, things take a drastic turn when the Ouija board (Planchette) malfunctions.
Just as before, you’ll need to tackle puzzles to advance through the levels, but the methods Amy employs are quite distinct from those used with Vivian. These puzzles can be quite tricky with Amy, and in this guide, we’ll walk you through solving one that involves the clay statues you’ll discover in the backyard garden of her home.
Garden Statue Puzzle Solution in Fear the Spotlight
Following the incidents at Planchette and further investigation into the altered Sunnyside High, players will discover they are now in Amy’s old family home. However, Amy cautions that there seems to be something ominous happening, as the front door is sealed with an unusual lock requiring a Star and Moon Medallion for entry.
As I delve deeper into this captivating game, I eventually find myself meandering through the cozy living room, leading to the tranquil backyard garden. It’s here that I stumble upon the intriguing Garden Statue puzzle, but to unlock its secrets, I need to first acquire a crucial item that will be my constant companion throughout this adventure.
How to Find the Hammer
In the very same garden where all the statues reside within the Tool Shed, you’ll discover the Hammer. However, there will be an unusual lock on the door that your Lockpick won’t work on. Instead of trying to open it directly, circumnavigate the right side of the Tool Shed and peek through a gap on the side. There, you’ll notice a Toolbox resting on a table. But most notably, you’ll come across the same lock with symbols guiding you on how to unlock it.
We’ve marked the solution to the Tool Shed puzzle in the image to make things easier.
Next, make your way to the Tool Shed’s entrance at the front, then follow the path to unlock it. Once unlocked, use your lockpick on the Toolbox inside, and grab the Hammer afterwards.
Solving the Garden Statue Puzzle
After grabbing the hammer, make your way back to the Garden Statues. Look for the plaques in the central row. They will provide the sequence you need to shatter the statues as indicated in the poem.
- The poem’s first line talks about four grandparents (two by two) from distant lands. Use the Hammer on the statues with white hair (top right, top middle, bottom left, and bottom right).
- The second placard talks about the father on the top left.
- The second third line of the poem mentions the mother in the bottom middle position.
- The fourth card mentions the brother on the middle left.
- Finally, the crush is mentioned in the last card, which is in the middle right.
Don’t worry if you make a mistake when breaking the statues. They’ll come back soon enough.
Following the proper sequence, if you manage to shatter every other statue, only one statue will remain standing centrally. This statue, later on, will metamorphose into the Dirty Saints Statue, making it ready for collection by you.
Cleaning the Dirty Saints Statue
Upon discovering the Saint Statue hidden within the enigma of the garden riddle, I found myself eager to place it on the Prayer Altar. Yet, my excitement was momentarily dampened as I learned that the statue isn’t quite ready for its sacred placement just yet. A necessary step remains before we can present it in its pristine state – the water supply to our humble abode must be revitalized. Only then can we proceed with the meticulous cleaning process, ensuring the saintly figure shines as brightly as its divine inspiration.
After exiting through the sliding door, proceed rightward. Utilize the Hammer to force open the wooden planks and make your way into the kitchen. Grab the Wrench lying on the table and retrace your steps back to the living room. Descend the stairs to the basement, moving towards the water valve. Although it lacks a handle, you can now employ the Wrench to manipulate it, thus restoring the water connection. Upon returning to the kitchen, activate the faucet in the sink and apply your Dirty Saints Statue to clean it.
In Vivian’s Story, titled “Fear the Spotlight,” most of the action unfolds at Sunnyside High, as you attempt to enter the Theater to rescue your friend, Amy. However, in contrast, Amy’s Story is structured differently, as you find yourself confined within her childhood home. The Saints Statue plays a crucial role in resolving the initial part of Amy’s Story and acquiring the Moon Medallion.
