FF 14 Patch 7.2 Is Adding QoL Feature Fans Have Begged For Since Launch

Summary

  • Patch 7.2 update adds boss warp points to Final Fantasy 14’s dungeons.
  • Previously, shortcut warps were usually far away from boss arenas.
  • Feature currently limited to pre-Dawntrail dungeons.

In the forthcoming Patch 7.2 update of Final Fantasy 14, a long-requested Quality of Life (QoL) improvement is being introduced. This change will make the initial experience of venturing through dungeons less challenging and more enjoyable for both players and their companions.

In most Final Fantasy 14 dungeons, you’ll find several battles against formidable bosses. If your team happens to perish during one such confrontation, you’re returned to the dungeon’s entrance. Along the way, checkpoints, or warp points, become accessible; however, these tend to be located some distance from previous boss encounters, meaning there’s a fair amount of travel before you can attempt the battle again.

The upcoming update for Final Fantasy 14, named Seekers of Eternity, is set to release on March 25th. Before this launch, Square Enix has shared a preview of the patch details on their official site, revealing that warp points will now be incorporated into the entrances of boss arenas.

All Pre-Dawntrail Dungeons Have Boss Warps

While this fantastic upgrade is available now, it applies only to dungeons created before the Dawntrail expansion. Consequently, those players who have progressed through the story may still be using the old method, but there’s hope that the Dawntrails dungeon will eventually get the same update in the future.

After beginning a boss encounter in any dungeon introduced prior to Patch 7.0, the shortcut warp will take players to the boss area’s entrance.

As a devoted fan, I must say that the inclusion of Boss Warp arenas in Final Fantasy 14 could be the most effective frustration-reliever feature yet! The tedious process of dashing around and resuming my position after a boss defeat was often exasperating, particularly when I was eager to dive back into the fray. Now, with this new feature, I can quickly return to the fight without any unnecessary delay, making my gaming experience much more enjoyable.

As a gamer, I’ve found myself deeply engrossed in Final Fantasy 14, a game that doesn’t need extra filler to stretch its runtime. With hundreds of hours required just to finish the main story, it’s already an immense journey. However, when faced with challenging dungeons or frustrating mechanics, I can’t help but feel less inclined to return. After all, no one wants to spend their time struggling in a game, especially when there are so many other fantastic adventures out there waiting to be explored.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled by the prospect that the new boss arena warps could be the first step towards even more quality-of-life improvements in Final Fantasy 14. While this game is truly exceptional, there are moments when it seems to prolong content unnecessarily. Any refinement of gameplay mechanics is always welcome and makes my gaming experience smoother.
