To access the Melee DPS Role Quest before Dawntrail, first finish “The Feat of Pots” Main Scenario Quest at level 92. During this quest, Br’uk Evu, a new character, will request assistance from the Warrior of Light. The game will then instruct you to converse with him later on to unlock the role quests.

X, with coordinates (X: 12.4, Y: 14.6), can be found at the bar in Xbalyav Ty’e, Tuliyollal. Engaging in conversation with him will trigger the level 90 quest named “Uncouth Customers” which is denoted by a blue content unlock symbol. Br’uk Evu shares that an enigmatic new gang of miscreants has emerged at the bar, and they have been wreaking havoc in Tural by pilfering valuable artifacts from various villages.

Following that, chat with Rral Majun by the bar for some additional background information. The character Raholl Ja is set to join your conversation at this point, and they’ll bring up a few new characters in need of help to recover their village’s sacred artifacts. This interaction will eventually guide you to the NPC who manages the Melee DPS role missions.

How To Complete The Quest ‘The Hunter And The Hunted’

FF14: How To Complete Dawntrail Melee DPS Role Quests

The first quest for the Melee DPS role is called “The Hunter and the Hunted”. This level 90 quest will be available with Shashepya (X: 11.8, Y: 14.9), a Viera NPC found outside Xbalyav Ty’e, the tavern in Tuliyollal. She will tell you about the artifact stolen from her people, a treasure called the Dreamweave Cocoon. Those who use its power can transform themselves into other people or creatures, copying not only the target’s appearance but also their power and skills.

As an experienced adventurer with a keen sense of intrigue, I can’t help but be drawn to this mysterious disappearance of I’toca, the renowned Viera hunter from my tribe, who was sent after a thief in Kugane. The fact that she has gone silent concerns me deeply, as she is far from home in this foreign land.

To locate I’toca, make your way to Kugane’s Shiokaze Hostelry. There, converse with Shitan (coordinates: 10.4, 9.9), Haboku (10.1, 9.9), and Hayataka (10.0, 10.1). Note that Hayataka is situated on the upper floor. Through these interactions, they will guide you to the Sekiseigumi Barracks, where a woman resembling I’toca was previously spotted.

Near the northeastern part of the main aetheryte, you’ll come across a woman resembling I’toca (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1). Speak with her, and she will identify herself as I’toca, subsequently sharing details about the current state of affairs. It is revealed that the thief is a middle-aged Hyuran man, but no information is available regarding his whereabouts due to the Dreamweave Cocoon’s concealing abilities.

Ask I’toca to join you once more in your information-seeking journey around the city. You’ll encounter an optional discussion topic at coordinates X: 12.2, Y: 10.0. The first Point of Interest is located in Rakuza District at X: 11.8, Y: 8.6. Another optional conversation point can be found at X: 11.4, Y: 11.1. Following this, you’ll discover more about the thief and then need to return to where the quest began, speaking with I’toca again at X: 13.4, Y: 10.1 to complete the mission.

At level 92, the next mission named “A Sea of Blood” can be found near I’toca (coordinates: 13.4, 10.1) in Kugane. This quest leads you to the Ruby Sea and begins with a goal at the Ruby Price. Instead of using a teleportation spell, it is simpler to reach this area via Kugane’s Pier #2. Once there, speak with Ikaruga (coordinates: 38.0, 38.6) who will guide you to Sakazuki. Afterward, interact with Shihoji (coordinates: 31.0, 36.7) and Hiun (coordinates: 30.4, 36.1). Finally, engage with I’toca (coordinates: 30.7, 36.2) to progress further in the quest.

Heading to Rasen Kaikyo for a second meeting with I’toca at coordinates X: 30.0, Y: 25.3 will trigger a cutscene. In this encounter, the enigmatic thief is likely to make an appearance once more, disclosing his connection to the Passage of the Unbound. However, he may criticize your group and assert that his motives are personal. Afterward, return to Kugane and speak with I’toca located at X: 13.4, Y: 10.1 to finish the quest.

How To Complete The Quest ‘Who’s Who’

FF14: How To Complete Dawntrail Melee DPS Role Quests

In the level 94 quest “Who’s Who,” your journey begins at the same spot where you encountered Itoca earlier – Kugane, specifically at coordinates X: 13.4, Y: 10.1. This time around, rumors have spread that a thief has been masquerading as Lord Hien, leading you to follow the trail to Namai. Speak with Shinden (X: 29.8, Y: 19.2), Miyake (X: 30.8, Y: 19.6), and Ochimi (X: 30.3, Y: 18.3) for information. Once you’ve gathered enough clues, make your way back to Itoca, located at X: 29.4, Y: 19.1.

Next, make your way to the House of the Fierce at coordinates X: 29.9, Y: 15.9, where you’ll encounter her. A shocking revelation awaits – the thief has taken on your persona in an attempt to stir up conflict between Doma and the Azim Steppe. However, it seems there are multiple impostors lurking around; the woman with you is not the genuine article, as the antagonist confesses to having murdered her. Additionally, a Doman confides that your enemy’s true name is Samidare, and he was coerced into serving as Garlemald’s spy following their occupation of Doma.

Go back to Kugane and find “I’toca” at coordinates X: 13.4, Y: 10.1. She’ll admit the truth, revealing her name is actually Kuiyki, and she feels responsible for the stolen Dreamweave Cocoon. In an attempt to make amends, she journeyed to Kugane with the genuine I’toca, who was dispatched by their people to track down the thief. Unfortunately, I’toca (the real one) ended up killing Kuiyki. If you decide to assist her further, the quest will come to a close.

How To Complete The Quest ‘Cornered Prey’

At level 96, your next mission is named “Cornered Prey“. To get it, visit Kuiyki at the usual spot in Kugane, coordinates X: 13.4, Y: 10.1. During your conversation with her about her past, Samidare’s companion suddenly emerges, sharing a promising tip. The rumor goes that the antagonist is concealed in Hell’s Lid, so we set off to explore this lead.

Follow the path towards the Ruby Sea and make your way to Hell’s Lid. The first notable location is at coordinates (25.5, 36.9), but it will be empty. Move forward until you reach the second location (24.2, 35.0). Here, a band of Red Kojin awaits your arrival to attack. Defeat them and advance to the third location (24.8, 32.7). Kuiyki will make an appearance, attempting to harm you, but it turns out to be an imposter. As your genuine ally emerges, she deduces this might have been how Samidare killed I’toca. Alas, the thief manages to flee once more, forcing you to head back to Kugane and converse with the authentic Kuiyki (13.4, 10.1) to conclude the quest.

How To Complete The Quest ‘Impostor Syndrome’

FF14: How To Complete Dawntrail Melee DPS Role Quests

At level 98, you can proceed with the next Melee DPS role quest named “Impostor Syndrome.” To find it, head to Kugane and locate Kuiyki (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1), as usual. Once you’ve confirmed your identity, Kuiyki will share that she has misplaced the antidotes required for countering the Dreamweaver Cocoon’s metamorphoses. She requests your help in gathering necessary ingredients to create new ones.

Take a stroll along Kogane Dori Markets using the Aethernet as your guide. Reach the shop located at coordinates (X: 12.0, Y: 12.6). There, you’ll encounter NPC Shirakashi, who unfortunately won’t have what you’re looking for. However, Kuiyki will eavesdrop on a conversation nearby and gain insight into the potential benefits of wearing spectacles for better vision and improved accuracy with her bow. Seek out Yamabuki (X: 12.8, Y: 12.3) to acquire information about the materials required to craft Kuiyki’s new spectacles, as he currently lacks some essential components.

32.8, Y: 7.0. Inside, interact with the first point of interest located at X: 31.8, Y: 7.6. After using the Glittering Gravel, the next location will appear nearby. Interact with it and a Shoal Iwamushi monster will emerge. Defeat the monster to collect the aurulent quartz. Later, return to the Kogane Dori Markets (X: 12.8, Y: 12.3) and speak with Yamabuki. Kuiyki will eventually arrive and get her spectacles fixed, becoming an excellent archer. Return to where you started the quest in Kugane (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1) to complete it.

How To Complete The Quest ‘A Hunter True’

FF14: How To Complete Dawntrail Melee DPS Role Quests

At level 100, the last DPS quest for Melee combatants called “A Hunter’s Truth” can be initiated. It begins with a visit from Cirina of the Mol tribe at Kuiyki’s location (X: 13.4, Y: 10.1) in Kugane. To verify her identity, you must ask her a verifying question. Once confirmed, she discloses that Samidare has resurfaced in the Azim Steppe, attempting to instigate war using your likeness. Although his scheme failed, Cirina and you set off together to examine the area further, suspecting Samidare’s presence remains.

Visit Reunion and have conversations with Botokhui (coordinates: 32.7, 27.8), Suvd (32.4, 27.3), and Yesui (32.3, 29.3). There, you’ll uncover information about Magnai’s peculiar behavior. It is essential that you inform Kuiyki (33.3, 27.4) about this discovery. Once she’s been filled in, return to her for the initiation of a one-man mission named “A Hunter True”, where you’ll encounter the Unbound being called Silvertongue Samidare.

As a gamer, I’d describe it this way: During the battle against Samidare, there’s nothing too complex going on. All you need to do is dodge his area-of-effect attacks and continue dealing damage to him. Don’t forget to complete any quick time events that come up. Once Kuiyki is subdued, be quick to break the chains before Samidare uses Sadu’s attack against her. And when Samidare transforms into Tamamo Gozen, looking like the Kamuy of the Nine Tails mount, make sure to destroy any Balls of Naught that appear before the Nine Tails’ Yoki meter fills up completely.

Following his defeat, a scene will unfold with Kuiyki retrieving the Dreamweaver Cocoon. Approach her (X: 11.5, Y: 11.1) by the entrance to Bardam’s Mettle dungeon for a conversation. She’ll express that your shared journey has reached its conclusion and invites you to reunite with her in Tuliyollal. Make your way back to Xbalyav Ty’e, where you’ll encounter Shashepya (X: 11.8, Y: 14.9), initiate interaction near the starting point of melee DPS role quests. Kuiyki will then rejoin you, and both will reflect on past events before she decides to return to her village. Concluding this questline grants a modest reward in gil, materia, and the Dreams Woven Anew achievement.
