Summary
- A new mod in FF7 Rebirth adds Cloud’s iconic Kingdom Hearts outfit for fans to enjoy.
- Cloud Strife is a popular character with multiple crossover appearances beyond Final Fantasy.
- The Kingdom Hearts outfit for Cloud is available in FF7 Rebirth with some minor issues in cutscenes.
In an exciting update for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, a fresh modification now allows Cloud to don his renowned attire from the Kingdom Hearts universe, opening up the opportunity for this version of the character to engage in combat with Sephiroth yet again.
Cloud Strife could possibly hold the record for the Final Fantasy character with the highest number of crossover roles. He’s not just present in different installments within the same franchise, but he also made an appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series since the 3DS/Wii U generation.
A notable instance featuring Cloud is within the Kingdom Hearts series, where he adopts a darker, gothic-style attire reminiscent of Vincent Valentine’s appearance in his original game. Regrettably, this portrayal of the character has not made an appearance for quite some time.
Fans looking forward to experiencing the somber atmosphere of Cloud once more in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, can accomplish this via a recently developed mod on Nexus Mods. This mod has been crafted by user ColossalCake.
Cloud’s One-Winged Form Is Available In FF7 Rebirth

To clarify, the Cloud’s Kingdom Hearts Attire can exclusively be found in the PC edition of Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Rebirth. However, before you can use it, ensure that the “Loveless Outfits – Individuals” mod has been installed, as this modification introduces physics to make the outfits function properly.
During cutscenes, there can be some problems with the outfit, particularly regarding how Cloud’s sword interacts within the scene due to collision detection. But don’t worry, everything functions properly as soon as combat starts.
The clothing you see wasn’t originally designed; instead, it was adapted from some of the additional costumes presented in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. In fact, the attire similar to Kingdom Hearts was downloadable content in that particular game.
Given the widespread appeal of the clothing modifications in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, it’s only logical that the sequel, Rebirth, would receive an extensive collection of new outfits for the main characters. It seems fitting that Cloud’s Kingdom Hearts costume has been incorporated, and one might even wonder why Square Enix hasn’t released it as DLC, given how well-received it could be among fans eagerly anticipating Sora’s next adventure.
