FF7 Remake Trilogy Director Is Open To A Fourth Entry

The creative lead behind the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has hinted that the story might not end with the third game. They’ve suggested that we could see more content either as downloadable additions or a completely new game.

As a huge Final Fantasy VII fan, I’m really excited (and a little nervous!) about the Remake trilogy. They’re basically taking the story of the original game and spreading it out over three games. The first one ended with Cloud and the gang finally escaping Midgar, and the second wrapped up with that epic fight in the City of the Ancients. But here’s the thing – it’s not a straight retelling anymore! The story is starting to go in new directions, so who knows what will happen with the rest of the plot? It’s definitely keeping things interesting!

Naoki Hamaguchi, director of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, recently told WccfTech that while Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won’t receive any downloadable content, they are considering adding more content to the third and final game in the series.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Could Continue

Naoki Hamaguchi has suggested that after the third Final Fantasy 7 Remake game, there could be both downloadable content and even a completely new game released.

With Final Fantasy 7 already expanded through a movie (Advent Children), a game (Dirge of Cerberus), and two novels (On the Way to a Smile and The Kids are Alright), there’s plenty of material to draw from for a possible fourth game in the series.

It’s uncertain whether the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy will have the same ending as the original game. The story has already diverged from the original, and with the introduction of alternate timelines, the ending could be quite different this time.

The next downloadable content for the third game might be based on Advent Children, as there isn’t enough material for a completely new game. A fourth game, however, could explore uncharted territory and finally resolve long-standing questions from the original series, like the story of Genesis from Crisis Core and what became of the Turks from Before Crisis.
