Final Fantasy 14 Announces 2025 Christmas Event

As 2025 nears its end, Final Fantasy 14 has announced the return of its yearly Starlight Celebration. Players can complete a special holiday questline to earn six new emotes and adorable decorations for their houses.

Even with the year winding down, Final Fantasy 14 still has exciting updates planned before 2026. In December, Patch 7.4 will launch, bringing a new Main Scenario Questline, the finale of the Arcadion Raid series, and a loosening of restrictions on how you customize your character’s appearance. Following that, development will really kick off for the next big expansion, with the first announcements expected at the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival in April 2026.

Starlight Celebration Returns to Eorzea

The Starlight Celebration, our annual Christmas event, kicks off on December 17, 2025, at midnight PST and runs until December 31st at 6:59 am PST – giving you two weeks to enjoy the festivities! To participate, you’ll need to be level 15 or higher and visit Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre in Old Gridania. Look for Amh Garanjy at coordinates X:10.2, Y:9.4 to begin the event quest.

Final Fantasy 14’s Christmas Goodies for 2025

Along with the usual winter decorations and story events, players will soon be able to unlock six new emotes that show their character enjoying a drink. These emotes are inspired by the game’s starting cities – Gridania, Ul’dah, and Limsa Lominsa – and come in two styles: a gentle sip and a hearty gulp. Each city has its own unique mug for the animation, and while it’s unknown if these new emotes will be exactly like the existing tea emotes, they’ll likely be very similar.

Just like emotes, there will be two sets of decorations for player homes and apartments in Final Fantasy 14. The first set includes Ul’dahn and Lominsan Kinderpunsch – tabletop drinks you can use up to ten times for a 30-minute meal effect. These drinks give you a 4% Piety bonus (up to 10 total), a 5% Vitality bonus (up to 12 total), a +3 bonus to gear durability, and a +3 bonus to experience points gained. The second set is simply for decoration, featuring stacks of Ul’dahn and Lominsan mugs. Players who participated in the 2024 Starlight Celebration might remember these, as a similar Gridanian mug was given away during that event.

During the festive season, players can find a few older Christmas items from Starlight vendors. Most seasonal items eventually become available in the paid store after their events finish. If you’re hoping to get something specific, it’s worth checking the store when the event starts – there’s usually a sale where most past seasonal items are offered at a discount.

After the Starlight Celebration ends, players won’t have to wait long for the next in-game event. The first five months of the year are packed with them, with events happening roughly every month through May. These include celebrations for the new year (Heavensturn), Valentine’s Day (Valentione’s Day), Little Ladies’ Day in March, an Easter-themed event (Hatching-tide) in April, and a special event at the Gold Saucer in May. Even though the next big update for Final Fantasy 14 isn’t expected until late 2026 or 2027, there will be plenty for players to do in the meantime.
