Final Fantasy 14 Fans Can Get a Free Fantasia Before Patch 7.4

Players can currently get a free in-game item called Fantasia in Final Fantasy 14, but this offer ends when Patch 7.4 releases on December 16th. Make sure to log in and claim this $10 item in Gridania before the update!

A major update for Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail, called “Into the Mist” (Patch 7.4), is coming on December 16th. This update will begin to bridge the gap to the next story arc while also finishing up storylines from the current expansion.

Before the next update arrives, Final Fantasy 14 players can get a free Fantasia! Just visit the Wandering Moogle near Apkallu Falls in Old Gridania to claim it. However, this offer won’t last forever. You’ll need to grab it before Patch 7.4 launches around December 15th. That gives you less than a week from today to log in and get your free Fantasia if you haven’t already.

How to Get Free Final Fantasy 14 Fantasia Before Patch 7.4

  • Log in to Final Fantasy 14
  • Find the Wandering Moogle near Apkallu Falls in Old Gridania
  • Talk to it and receive a free Fantasia
    • To use a Fantasia, go to an inn room, remove all gear, and use the consumable
    • When logging back in, the option to recustomize one’s character will be available
    • This option does not need to be used immediately, and will not disappear until changes are finalized

In Final Fantasy 14, Fantasias are items you can buy to completely change your character’s appearance. While you can adjust things like hairstyle and makeup with in-game currency (gil) at the Aesthetician, Fantasias allow you to alter your character’s face, voice, gender, or even their race. They usually cost around $10 each, so getting one for free is a great perk.

This isn’t the first time players have received a free Fantasia in the game. All players who completed the main story of A Realm Reborn received one, and another was available through the Bottled Fantasy quest in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail after the graphics update. This Patch 7.3 Fantasia is actually the third free one offered by the Wandering Moogle. The first two were given out with Patches 7.1 and 7.2 after changes were made to character models, allowing players to adjust their characters’ appearances without paying extra.

What’s Next in Final Fantasy 14?

Players claiming their free Fantasia should also try to complete any remaining milestones in the Moogle Treasure Trove event. Until Patch 7.4 arrives, you can earn Irregular Tomestones of Revelation by playing the game, and use those to get exclusive rewards. Some of the best items available right now include the new Buuz Earring, the Tinker’s Bell minion featuring a Shadowbringers world boss, and the Gwiber of Light mount, which you can earn by completing The Seat of Sacrifice (Extreme) trial.

On December 16th, players can experience Patch 7.4, which includes the next part of the main story questline, a new Dungeon and Trial, and the exciting finale to the Arcadion story featuring music by Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and Caleb Shomo (Beartooth). The patch also introduces unrestricted glamour options in Final Fantasy 14, with even more content planned for future updates.

Okay, so Patch 7.5 is still a bit off, but we’re already getting a peek at what’s coming! From what I’ve heard, it’s going to kick off the story for the next expansion and wrap up the whole Final Fantasy XI raid series, which is awesome. Plus, we’re getting another new planet to explore in the Cosmic Exploration system, a new area called North Horn for the Occult Crescent, a super challenging Ultimate raid, and a limited job – the Beastmaster! It sounds amazing, but it probably won’t hit us until April at the earliest, so it might be a while before we get a really good look at the final big update for Dawntrail.
