In the expansive world of Final Fantasy 14, one type of content that remains particularly captivating to many players is the Allied Society Questlines (previously known as “Beast Tribes”). These engaging aspects not only enrich the game’s lore across various regions but also offer enticing incentives for those who choose to engage with them.
In the expansion known as Dawntrail within Final Fantasy 14, a new society called the Mamool Ja questline was incorporated. This guide breaks down all necessary steps for unlocking this questline, explains how an Allied Society questline operates, and previews the rewards you’ll receive upon completing the Mamool Ja questline in Final Fantasy 14.
The Mamool Ja questline is one of the new societies added to Final Fantasy 14’s Dawntrail expansion. This guide explains how to unlock this questline, what an Allied Society questline entails, and the rewards you can expect after completing the Mamool Ja questline in Final Fantasy 14.
How to Unlock Mamool Ja Allied Society in Final Fantasy 14
In the lower region of the map near Mamook, located at coordinates (X:35.6, Y:32.0), you’ll find where the Mamool Ja Allied Society storyline begins in the town of Yak T’el. Here, you can converse with Gotoll Ja to acquire the ‘Cultivating Hope’ quest, a Level 90 mission tailored for your chosen gathering profession.
To clarify, this specific Allied Race (or “Beast Tribe” as another term) questline is specifically designed for characters classified as Disciples of the Land. Characters who belong to the Disciples of the Hand (crafters) and combat classes are unable to join. If you’re considering leveling a gathering class for this content, the Cosmic Exploration added in Patch 7.21 is an excellent way to do so rather swiftly, assuming you’ve completed the Endwalker expansion.
In the game Yak T’el, you’ll find that you can’t access the Mamool Ja Allied Society content until you’ve fulfilled certain requirements for the quest first. Here are the tasks you might need to accomplish beforehand:
This way, we ensure that the information is easy to understand and flows smoothly in a conversational tone.
- ‘Aiming High’ – Located at Yak T’el (X:13.3, Y:13.4), this quest unlocks an Aether Current for Yak T’el region.
- ‘Hunting For the Family’ – Talk to Ty’at Roh in Yak T’el at (X:12.3, Y:11.9).
- ‘A Hunter’s Dream’ – Talk to Ty’at Roh in Yak T’el at (X:11.3, Y:14.4).
- ‘The Trial Commences’ – Talk to Ty’at Roh in Yak T’el at (X:30.9, Y:14.9).
- ‘Lost and Powerless’ – Located at Yak T’el (Y:32.0, Y:31.3), this quest unlocks an Aether Current for Yak T’el region.
- ‘Remembering a Dream’ – Talk to Shiidil Ja in Yak T’el at (X:31.7, Y:31.0).
- ‘Budding Promise’ – Talk to Gotoll Ja in Yak T’el at (X:34.7, Y:32.6).
- ‘Skill of a Veteran‘ – Talk to Gotoll Ja in Yak T’el at (X:34.7, Y:32.6).
- ‘One Forest’ – Talk to Gotoll Ja in Yak T’el at (X:34.7, Y:32.6).
- ‘Dawntrail’ – Main Scenario Quest in Living Memory at (X:11.4, Y:4.6).
After finishing all previously mentioned tasks, you’ll be able to converse with Gotoll Ja to receive the ‘Cultivating Hope’ mission. Notably, unlike the preceding quests that can be accomplished using a combat-focused character, this one specifically requires a character with gathering skills.
Finishing the tasks in this quest will grant you access to the Mamool Ja Allied Society storyline for your character, including its daily missions and special features that follow.
How to Complete Mamool Ja Allied Society Quests in Final Fantasy 14

In the Dawntrail expansion, version 7.0, the Mamool Ja Allied Society storyline is the second quest series to be introduced. Much like past Allied Society quests (often referred to as Beast Tribe quests by some players), you advance by completing up to three daily tasks given by NPC Kageel Ja at the Gok Golma center, located south of Mamook at coordinates (X:33.2, Y:36.0).
Each quest you finish grants Experience Points tailored to your class, in-game currency (gil), Mamool Ja Nanook tokens, and Mamool Ja Relationship points. The tokens can be swapped for numerous rewards from Veerul Ja, the Gok Golma Vendor. On the other hand, the Mamool Ja Relationship points accumulate to boost your standing within the Mamool Ja Allied Society tribe, affecting your overall Reputation Rank.
As you progress through your daily tasks and achieve higher ranks, the Gok Golma center will grow, providing access to unique milestone quests and additional premium rewards offered by the vendor.
The ranks you can achieve include:
- Friendly – Automatically unlocked at the start of the questline.
- Trusted – 510 Mamool Ja Relations points required.
- Respected – 720 Mamool Ja Relations points required.
- Honored – 990 Relations points required.
- Sworn – 1320 Relations points required.
- Bloodsworn – 1730 Relations points required; Final Rank.
Once you’ve attained the Bloodsworn rank within the Mamool Ja, you still have the option to carry on with Kageel Ja’s daily quests using any of the gathering professions. This is a simple and consistent way to elevate your character levels.
All Mamool Ja Allied Society Quest Rewards in Final Fantasy 14

Previously mentioned, climbing higher ranks in the Mamool Ja Allied Society mission provides access to increasingly unique rewards from Veerul Ja, the Gok Golma Vendor. As you advance in rank, new rewards become available for acquisition using Mamool Ja Nanook tokens.
Besides the common rewards like collecting and crafting resources, there are certain perks that can only be acquired through finishing the quest series (these aren’t available for purchase in the market). Examples include a mount and a pet companion.
As a gamer, I’ve got some exciting news about the rewards for this questline. The exact cumulative rewards and their respective rank unlocks are still under wraps, but here’s what we know so far:
Once they’re unlocked, the Branchbearer mount will set me back 18 Mamool Ja Nanook tokens, while the Ja Tiika Leafkin minion will cost 8 of those same tokens. So, keep grinding and collecting those tokens!
